Forum - How do I...?

I have seen several other folks ask, "How do I ......" I can remember that it was not to long ago that I was clueless too online. Maybe some of the more experienced here can help out some of the less experienced. Im sure I could learn a few things as well. I'll start this off...

Q. How do I post pictures on the site?

A. You have two choices for posting a pic here on the registry. If the picture is already hosted online you can click the IMG button, just below the Message Icons, and insert the web address there. If the pic you want to post is not hosted online, but is on your pc, you will need to attach the file. To attach the file, enter the file extension in the Attach File feild just below the area you type the main body of your post.

This may be as clear as mudd, but I hope this helps.

Good question, it took me awhile to realize that you can't (to my knowledge) post multiple pics unless they're hosted and you're using ITLRUN's first method described. You can click IMG multiple times and insert as many pics as you'd like, with no size limits (other than out-of-the-kindness-of-your-heart consideration for those of us still on dial-up!). If you're attaching a file from your own hard drive, the limit is 75kb and you can only attach one per post.

That's my understanding, anyway.

Yes, using the [ img ] http://www.yourhostsite.com [ /img ] code you can have up to FIVE (5) linked images from another site in your message...

Example:
[ img ] http://www.yourhostsite.com/image1.jpg [ /img ]
[ img ] http://www.yourhostsite.com/image2.jpg [ /img ]
[ img ] http://www.yourhostsite.com/image3.jpg [ /img ]

etc...just remove the spaces in the [_img_] code(s), this is only for examples...

You can post photos (bigger) in the photogallery and then just linked them up into you message.

Yes, uploading is limited to 75K, a good file size is 640x480 and less then 75K.

If you quote or go to reply you should see a manage attachments button. You will not see it with quick replies.

I was able to post your pics quite easily.
Just click on the "img" code by the pic on your photobucket
and it will say "copied".
Go to the thread you want to post on,
right click and choose paste.
Submit and you're done.
