IAC not reading after Eaton swap

Well finished up the swap just in time to hit the dyno date today. Had the car at the shop right at 8am after making the hour long drive (towing). Called to check on it at 3:30 today only to find out they can get the IAC to communicate. Tuner thinks it's a wire or PCM issue. He tried another IAC but didn't change the outcome.

Car starts just fine, idles right at 1k but will hunt between 800 and 1k. I told the tuner this before bringing the car in and he assured me he could clean it up with the tune. Car has 60lb injectors with cobra tank and pumps on E85. Only code we are throwing is the EGR code. Anything I can pass onto the tuner that might help, really disappointed she didn't get to come back home today?

Did you have to cut and extend the wires? It sounds like it's a mechanical issue. If the second IAC didn't help I'd check all the connections.

The cobra iac is different than the Mach iac. Are you using the cobra one already?

Yes we did but he said continuity was good from the IAC to the wire harness on the back driver firewall. He was going to check Monday from the firewall to the PCM. The part I don't understand is he had the car all day on Friday and wasn't able to track down the issue. Unless he wasn't able to actually work on it the majority of the day.

As I was laying awake in bed stressing over this last night, I remember another connector on the passenger side engine compartment that wasn't used (map sensor I tink). Is it possible that they both have the same connector type and I have the wrong one plugged into the IAC? It baffles me that we never saw a code regarding an issue with the IAC

Yes, we installed the cobra one because we didn't like how the Mach IAC almost hits the hood.

The map sensor is located on the drivers side, back, bottom part of the blower. That's where you'll be taking your air temps from and where the two wires that you extended from the maf went.

Bigger shops have lots of cars and priorities being juggled around. Try not to wig out if things take longer than you think they should.

I know I shouldn't "wig" out and you're absolutely right. It's just frustrating when you've been working toward something for 2+ years for it to all come down to something like this. I'm sure they will figure it out next week. I"ll post back what they find just encase someone else ever comes across this issue.

These things never go perfectly smooth. My start up tune for my eaton swap wouldn't even let my car idle. Trailered it to the shop and it went from not holding an idle to the easiest eaton swap he'd ever tuned.
