Re: Is the Mach your 1st Stang?

This is my very first Mustang and very first Ford. I'm a huge fan of all cars.

I remember reading about the release of the Mach 1 and forgot about it, so I bought a new Mercedes coupe in 2003 to do parking lot racing. I started dating my current GF and her dad had a heavily modified 01 Mustang GT that was set up for road racing. He let me drive it and I was hooked. I went down and traded for a blue Mach 1.

I loved the shaker and the aluminum block, the big brakes and the look of the interior, oh and yes the torque. I really love this car, despite its 70's chassis design flaws, it is a really good platform to do whatever you want, drag racing, road racing, insano street car.

I prefer road racing and have taken it out to Sebring 3 times. My club rents the track all day which means if my brakes and I could handle it, I could drive 6 hours on the road course. My last event I drove 125 miles on the course throughout the day. My friend who just bought a Mach went with me and couldn't believe how hard you can beat on the car and it doesn't even care. This car never fails to surprise me. I took on a lot of cars that day that I thought we faster.

Anyway, just a great car and I plan on keeping it for a long time.

List of mods. White plastic Hurst shift ball. The aluminum shift ball gets really really hot at the track. Going back to stock springs and wheels as soon as I can.

My Mach is my third Stang. Back in 1989 I bought a 89 5.0 LX ragtop. Beautiful triple white demo with only 3000 miles. It was totaled by a tow truck driver trying to impress his girlfriend. With the insurance money I bought a 90 5.0 Notch. Wish I never sold that car. Went Stangless for 11 years until I bought the Mach.

Well, I guess the question is whether or not those of us in which now have Stang's will keep them or get another one in the future! I know I'm keeping mine till death do us part...

This is my first Mustang, but not first ford. Had a F150 to start with and sold it because I had to have a Thunderbird. The bird is a 96 and has 150k miles on it and was bought in early 97. It still is my daily driver. I had a motorcycle as a spare ride and you know how some families feel about motorcycles....well sold it. I bought the Mach to someday replace the bird as my dd but have enjoyed the car so much by going to car shows and cruise ins I don't think that will ever happen.

My first car was a 1984 Mustang SVO, which I bought from my uncle in 1989. Since then I have owned 9 mustangs. (3) SVO's, (2) 5.0 LX coupes, (1) 5.0 LX hatchback (converted to a Saleen clone), (1) 2.3 Mustang convertible, (1) 2001 Mustang GT and last but not least (1) 2003 Mach 1 Mustang. I currently own the 2003 Mach 1 and a 1989 5.0 coupe.

In your eye's, how does the Mach 1 stack up to all the other Stang's?

This is my 6th Mustang. Had a 68 GT, 2 1980's, 1989 LX 5.0, and traded a 2002 GT for my Mach 1. All but the 68 have been white and all but one of the 1980's were 4/5 speed. The Mach is # 1. Chop

Re: Is the Mach your 1st Stang?

I have had plenty of Mustangs. The first was a new '89 black 5.0 L Coupe (when they weren't considered cool). I bought it 12/3/88. Next was a 1995 GTS again new and black. The latested new on would be the Mach 1, new and black too. I have had a 99-up Body White from Roush Industries, 1991 Special Service Package "Police" car and a few other bits and pieces. :teeth:

Re: Is the Mach your 1st Stang?

I had a 1979 4 cylinder mustang when I was 17. Oh, the memories. I actually got my first speeding ticket in that car. It took it awhile to make it over 55. Went to driver's school, and had the sh#t scarred out of me watching driving horror movies. Started wearing my seatbelt. Some guy actually passed out on break and split his head on the tile hallway floor. The water pump went bad and the engine block cracked.

The Mach 1 is a lot better. :3amin:

This is the first mustang I've owned. I learned to drive in a 67, 6 cyl Mustang in 69. Up till now I've been a Chevy owner. Big block, small block, Nova's ,Chevelles, vettes. But this Mach 1 is the most enjoyable to drive. Look fwd to many years of driving pleasure.:

Re: Is the Mach your 1st Stang?

A Mach 1 was my first mustang but it was a 1970 I purchased in 1975 then I jumped to a 70 Boss 302. Unfortunately I had to sell it and I took a 30 year hiatus from the mustang owner ship club. That problem has been corrected now, my wife has a 06 GT and I just purchase a 03 Mach in April. It’s nice to be back.
