Possibly off someones head, what power levels is the cobra fuel setup good for? (injectors, pumps, tank)

Re: Eaton Swap.....

i beleive and i might be wrong the cobra fuel set-up is good for 550rwhp, i may be wrong but i think that is right

Re: Eaton Swap.....

more like 480 rwhp and you'd be maxing out im pretty sure. i have a bunch of ford gt fuel pumps for sale to help solve the fuel troubles you guys may be having with your swap. ull need the gt pumps. focus pumps arent big enough.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

IMO if you have the money and will be fine to do now and will be great for later, could do a dual fuel pump set up. i'm going to be pushing pretty much for sure 450rwhp and i'm going to be using focus fuel pump with a Kenne Bell BAP. might try that out too. good luck

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Well all i really have left for my swap parts is a tank/pump. Im planning on 450rwhp. Will the cobra setup hold me safely? Im new to this and have been reading trying to figure out what to do.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

my procharger is going to be putting me at 450rwhp and i'm running 39lb fuel injectors, svt focus fuel pump with a kenne bell BAP, i would say yes it will be fine, i would say for safe extra, try to find a kenne bell BAP and you will be more than safe with 450rwhp for sure, your set up will work, my buddies 03 cobra is pushing 450rwhp on stock tank set up, been like that for many many miles and he is fine. so your good to go with the hp your looking at

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Thanks, I think ill just do that. (stock cobra setup) I will be redo'ing it anyways when the whipple comes!!

ASH302 03-28-2010 07:47 AM

Re: Eaton Swap.....

yeap yeap, glad i could help, like i said if you get chance to buy the kenne bell BAP i would use it, take a little stress off the fuel system for say. plus you can use it when the whipple comes and then just change your hat and had one or two more pumps and your fuel lines then with it, good luck on your build.

There's 4 hoses, but you just need 3. The last one is the same since it just goes from the radiator to the thermostat housing.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Im getting an eaton with 9k miles from my friend and gona piece the kit together over the next year but was wondering whether a stage 1 port by steigmeier and a smaller pulley would be too much for the stock bottom end. Looking for a louder whine more so than a few more hp.

Yes too much.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Go with just a stock pulley and you'll be fine with a Stage 1 port. I ran one for 5k miles with no issues. Made 466 rwhp with it.

you prob won't want to run more than 10psi on stock bottom
you could do the stock eaton with smaller pulley
you could do stock pulley with stage one on eaton

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Ok thanks guys. I think I'm going to do the port and stock pulley. Also how will the stock clutch hold up to ~450 rwhp?

it prob hold up a little bit, but i would prob start saving for another one, but it may hold up for awhile, depends i think on how hard you drive it. also how many miles you have on the mach will also depend on if you need a new one faster too. but i would just start saying some money or go ahead and install a stronger clutch and flywheel, don't know what you money looks like,

could do a 03/04 cobra clutch set up. pm birdman941 and he can hook you up with that, with no prob:ORANGE:

Just wondering, any of you guys had any issue using cruise control after the swap? I tried using mine today and it doesn't even turn on, not that I use it often, had a real bad experience with them, but would like for it to work.

If I go with an EGR Delete - what items on the swap list could I cross off?
