Tire size help?

Looking to by some new tires for the rear and wondering what you folks recommend! The rear wheels are 18x10 and it has Pro Kit springs. right now it has 275/ 35/18 on it and i have about 2 1/2" from top of tire to fender. wanting to fill in gap some but not rub and would also like some more width without rubbing pipes. going to try to order this weekend so any help would be great.

Re: Tire size help?

Just from a cost perspective for 18's I would jump to the 295's and call it good!

I dont know that they are alot higher but you cant find that size in 18 in many choices. Go to tirerack.com and get a idea of sizes and prices. :3amin:

A 305/35/18 will be approximately .820" taller in diameter, and 1.18" wider. Numers are approximate due to variations from manufacturer to manufacturer. This size would be a much better fit for the 10" rims that you are running. I used to work at a tire/wheel shop.

saw some pics of 315/35s that looked real nice on the cars but they were all on 17" wheels! So would the 315s be too large for the 18s?

I'm running 295/35/18s on my Bbs rks 18x10 rims and I think they are perfect. 315s are nice I had them on 17s before but they are also about 40 bucks more. I think 295s are perfect 315s if u can afford it and want your rears alot wider

Do you have any pics? What brand tire are you running? I was just on Nittos site and they arent showing 295/35 18 in the 555s only in the Invos. They are only showing 285/40 18s in the 555s

A 275/35/18 is app. 25.58" in diameter and 10.82" wide.
A 305/35/18 is app. 26.40" in diameter and 12.01" wide.
A 315/35/18 is app. 26.68" in diameter and 12.40" wide.

A 305/35/18 is perfect for a 10" rim. You can run a 315/35/18 but I wouldn't go any bigger.

Hope this helps.

Re: Tire size help?

The optimum tire size for an 18X10 rim is 285/35/18. Only a +0.66 diameter difference from OEM, and fits a 10" rim perfectly. FYI, all the suggested tire sizes (mine included) will not fill any of the gap in question. Theoretically, one wants to provide an aftermarket tire size as close to OEM diameter as possible. H&R Super Sport springs should remedy your gap issue. :smokin:
