What do you think of the widened stripe?
 

There's a guy on another forum I belong to who had his striped widened to the highest lines of the hood. I did a weak photochop of it and would like some opinions. Just looking for some simple things to do to my exterior to make the Mach stand out a bit more.

I'm not too thrilled by it either myself...it's not terrible, it's just not my thing. I like the stripe the way it is, though I do like the addition of the extra wide stripe around the original stripe. That looks sharp and is reminiscent of the '70 Mach 1 stripes. I just like the stripes going straight down the body and not widening as it gets back around the hood scoop even if it is following the hood line.

Well it's not bad. There will be many on both sides of the fence. It is similar to the stripe I mentioned that just went on the outside of the existing stripe and I do like that, so it's not a far stretch to have this stripe on.

Are you talking about the stripes from Graphic Express? I've really considered them too. That would obviously be the less expensive route too.

I'm sure those are the stripes I'm thinking of. They have some lettering on the outside stripe by the hood scoop. I think those are pretty sharp myself.

If you just want to be different, it's OK. I don't think it looks better, though.

Concept width in gloss is the best I've seen. I don't like skinny hood stripes anymore. :smokin:

These? If so, I've really thought about doing it because I know 03Mach150BP has them, and I've seen something similar to those stripes on another AB Mach, but they were painted on. I wish I could see them in more pictures on a TR Mach.

I want to stand out more, not necessarily be different, but I also want it to look good while standing out. Otherwise I'd just through a big picture of Jesus on my rear window or something :23:

Me too. That and the wheels really set the car off.

Yep, that's the one I was thinking. Those look awesome in my opinion. If my stripes weren't so subtle I'd put them on my car. However, I chose to have one of the two subtle colors these cars came in so it would be a waste. However, replacing all the stripes on my car with a silver stripe would be pretty sweet looking I think. I've got 'ol yeller to stand out because if you don't see her coming, then you'll surely hear that big block 427 coming down the road. :)

I kind a like it. A little different. I don't think a lot of people would even notice. Not counting the folks on here. If you do the back window thing, no one will notice the strip before or after.:23:

I have a CF hood, I plan on having my hood painted like this except leaving the CF exposed where you have black.

On a side note, I'm not normally big on the AB Machs but the one with the grey stripes and wheels looks **** good. Who does it belong too.

i think it done with carbon fiber would be sweet.. id love to do it but my stripe continues on my decklid. and the black and zinc yellow are just whicked. i think CF would look gray

can you throw out a pick of your deck lid, I also considered doing the same. I just received my CF decklid today. I had planned to leave the rear panel exposed CF and paint the rest.

I like the wide one that goes all the way out or the stock stripe best
