Your going to have to wire in a relay for the pump.

Would it be possible to just run a toggle switch to it?

There is really no reason to ever have it off. I wouldn't think that would be a great idea unless you could monitor your temps there. Wired the way everyone does basically turns it on when your key is in the on position even if the engine isn't. That makes sure its on when you need it. In my opinion it would be too easy to forget to turn it on and that wouldn't be good having super heated coolant stuck in your blower raising those temps.

Pics of my shaker bracket. Simple, yet it does the job perfectly.

Does that move around at all? Or are you using a locking washer to keep it tight? It looks like it may move around, thats why i'm asking?

how much did everything cost from installation stuff to the eaton.......

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Im right at $2,652 for everything but tune. I should be looking at $3,150 for the complete swap and tune. I came across a sweet deal, guy gave me everything down to the last bolt for $2,500. The only thing he didnt throw in was the throttle and crusie control cable. Even came with fuel tank/ pumps, a new alternator, and a JLT CAI.

I noticed that you do not have the 3 EGR connectors that bracket to the drivers side of the Eaton. Are those connectors nesasary? Someone told me that you dont need them.

It moves with the motor. Does not shake as much as stock but it still moves.

I ended up paying close to 2 for everything, but made alot of my money back selling stock parts, so in the end for me I actually came out even.

Good price for all the parts.

It can be deleted with the EGR delete that i did a long time ago. Those three sensors and the EGR are gone along with that big tube of vacuum wires. It looks so much cleaner without that stuff in there.

if you leave the egr off doesnt fuel economy suffer...might not be the best idea for the dd mach owners doing this swap...

question! i know the swap list, is the list of ALL stock parts needed but, do some that come with aftermarket options, i.e. the TB, intake, maf, injectors, and headers, would not be needed to complete the swap?

You do not need new headers. I made the mistake of picking and chosing parts to buy off of the lists... do not underestamate the parts on the swap list. If you want to make a million trips to ford and to pep boys, buy them as they are needed. If you want to do it the right way, buy all the parts on the list plus valve cover gaskets and hose clamps. You will NOT use every singal part on that list because there are several different ways to install certain things. For example- some people chose to do an EGR delete; that alone takes of 2 or 3 parts from the list. Some people chose now to run all the evap stuff on the drivers side of the blower; that takes off 4 or 5 parts from the list.

The list is simply everything you need to make your swap like a stock cobra supercharger setup, not everything is needed to make it run on your car.

In my opinion, buy EVERY part machgsxr tells you to buy!!! Rather have five $20.00 parts and not need them than not have five $20.00 parts and need them.

BTW- Yes, you need new injectors. Yes, you need a new EGR valve and tube. Yes, you need new throttle and cruise control cables. Yes, you need a new IAC. No, you do not need a new throttle body. No, you do not need a new TPS.
Those were some of my questions... just thought I would answer them.

FYI- Plug the timing cover bolt hole that is not used on the new cobra timing cover to the right of ther water pump. Not doing this will result in an oil leak.

Will the stock computer with a tune work with the eaton swap?

Yes the stock computer will work but you need it tuned by a pro..

I would seriously doubt it would run well if at all on the stock mach tune but it might. Any tuner should be able to write you a quick safe tune that you could use to just drive it to the tuner as long as you've got a chip or handheld already. My tuner just wrote me a quick basic tune that was super safe so I could drive out there. I never had it over 3k but it gave me time to make sure my fluids were good and the coolant and power steering systems were burped etc. I put like 50 miles on it before I drove it to the tuner to make sure everything worked how it was supposed to.

If you meant the routing of the hoses see this post.

If you meant to connect it to the car, then you either need some bolts and push them in from the backside of the holes or get with member Reloaded on here and ask him about the part # for some little collapse able nuts that work from Ford.

Hey I am purchasing a complete swap kit from a guy and I was curious if anyone has done that? If so were there any parts that were missed because he will need the or whatnot. Also, how much does the factory harness need to be modified?

cre8787 06-27-2008 10:56 AM

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Every kit will be missing something... just the way it goes. You will need to modify the MAF sensor, alternator conector, and intercooler pump. all this is in this thread write up.
