Totoland Mach 08-31-2003 07:23 AM

Well, if you mean chronological age, 59.8 years...won't be the big six oh till Jan 8th..same day as Elvis..hum-in-ah hum-in-ah. Now, of course, in mental age...I thinkin' 30 to max 31 years.

Age is relative!

51 - but have been driving Mustangs since my first 1965 Fastback 289 A-code which was my first "new" car when it was 5 years old. I was eighteen and it was a fantastic car. Now I can afford to keep more than one Mustang in the garage!

I think we would see a lot of young drivers of Mustangs if we didn't limit the model to the Mach 1. Expensive stuff for young people or those with a young family. I see several young drivers in late-model V-6 Mustangs so they are certainly popular.

I hope to drive Mustangs until my last day. My seventeen year old son is having a few "turns" driving the Mustangs and loves it. He has started saving some money to purchase a 2005 when they are released.

I am 16, but i don't have a new mach.
We got the 70 when i was about 14, and fixed it up until it was driveable. It was one heck of a learning experience.

MikeMach1 09-02-2003 08:13 PM

Wow I like how it looks man, awesome job. Now that is what I call a learning experience.

Thanks a lot. It was a very steep learning curve, but it saved my butt the other day.

I was going to go to the beach through CA-84 (Woodside road for those who who know the area). While I was in town, i heard a barely audible sound, and my suspension felt softer. Anyway, it turs out the rear swaybar mount popped out. If i hadn't built up the car myself, i would have never been able to know something was wrong, and i would have drove the twisties with a one sided rear sway bar, and three other people in the car. It sure pays to fix your own car. Anyway, my story is over, thanks again.

young @ heart

I am 39 , will be big 40 when i take delivery of my 1ST Ford. I've owned 5 Bow Ties in the past. All serious street rippers . 68 camaro ss. with a blown 355 , 72 nova ss w/ 327 4 speed, another 72 nova ss w/ 355 ci. crate motor automatic, a 75 camaro w/ 406ci and auto. and a 78 nova rs. w/ 427 big block & 4 speed. The mustang will be the slowest of everything I've owned but, I'm sure I'll do some small mods to help it go a little faster, I'm really looking for streetability for a change.

Five Oh B 09-23-2003 08:55 PM

I'm 50. Can't imagine what insurance would cost me if I were younger. My daughter is 20 and pays more for a six cylinder Mustang. Both of us have PERFECT driving records. I also have a 1966 Mustang convertible, candyapple red with white top. I had a 1965 fastback when I was a teenager. I drove it throughout college. I have had a 1974 Mustang, a 1977, a 1978, a 1990, a 1994, a 1966 coupe, a 2000 and a 2002. The last two were six cylinders. The Mach is without a doubt the most powerful and fun to drive of any of them, convertible included.
I have torch red and a 5-speed. It's been five years since I have driven a 5-speed and it's taking some time to get used to that again.
The seats also are designed for someone a bit leaner than I, but I'm enduring it.
Mustangs rule.
Six cylinders help keep the hobby alive because most teens can at least afford to insure them. Camaros and Firebirds concentrated too much on V8's and couldn't sell enough to remain profitable. Ford must sell V6's in order to give us GT's, Cobras and Mach Ones.

340.29m/s 09-23-2003 09:59 PM

I'm 18 and this is my first Mustang.

As much as I would not want any other mustang, I kinda feel like I missed out a little by not working my way up...

(this is not an invite to trade with someone that owns a V6 :p)
