Mach 1 build your own track car

I remember reading a Mustang magazine when the Mach 1 first came out, and it had an article on building your own Mach 1 - it was just a shell with the unmistakeble shaker hood. I don't think you could drive it on the road because it didn't have air bags and such.
Anyone ever seen this, or know of any that exist? Just curious..
I'll try to dig up a picture.

Yeah, I had them on for a pretty penny. I just bought my house and got a little nervous... so I put them on there in case some rich collector wanted to pay... I bought an additional AB and TR, and those are the colors my bro and I have (the 1:1 scale real ones :D), so I was willing to let the rest go for a lot of moo laa
They never sold, but I had 14 or so watchers and over 300 views (mainly people like you who were just curious) but it only takes one of those people to buy them...so I left them on a few more times. I still have them in my closet.

sounds good i understand that, and your right it takes one person to buy,
well sorry you didn't sell, but atleast you still have your full house
i need to buy a couple more SY (which its not they don't cost like the AB does and so hard to come by) i'm wanting one SY to just keep in the box and never take out (wouldn't mind getting the other 6 all in the box and never taken out) get another SY for car shows. get couple more SY for each of my boys, they love playin with cars and my oldest a few years back got him a SY for xmas and he loved it, cuz it looks like daddy's car :blah: makes me happy,
its going to be fun finding another AB

Re: Mach 1 build your own track car

I believe CDC and MRT both did Mach 1 Track cars.

Here is MRT's
http://www.mrt-direct.com/1994-2004-mustang.html
Here it is before the crash

The BLUE is the Same one as the YELLOW Mach 1 Racer, after Scott Hoag took a terrible crash (lost brake line at 120MPH), but they rebuilt it!
This is it after they rebuilt it.

That's cool. If I were to do a track car, I'd like to do it like this instead of taking a street registered car and make it not street legal anymore.. just my preference. I like how he rebuilt the one that wrecked

Re: Mach 1 build your own track car

i'm with you, it would be better to just start with a shell like that and go with it. also i would think it would be the best bang for your buck
i do like how they still used it after they wrecked it, both colors look good
