:borg:

Pretty Cool..
I'll have to go back and look at those.

Page 58 Scott Hoag MRT Hood Strut Install

The photo on Page 58 of Scott Hoag installing his very own company’s MRT Hood Struts onto a Black 2004 Mach1 was taken on June 3, 2006 at 11 am on the show field grounds of the All Ford Nationals in Carlisle, Pa. Mr. Hoag did installs of several of his products right at the show field most times for little to no fee. This was something Mr. Hoag did for most of his time at the show which several of us took advantage of since is the god father of our cars so to speak. I think at one point he was pulling a small wagon behind him with tools wish I got a photo of that. He always has a smile and good bit of info to share and of course answer any of our questions about our beloved cars….

On page 7 is a picture I took of Scott smiling and installing my MRT Hood Structs at the time. Also my MSRP sticker for my '03 Mach is used near the back of the book. Mine was delivered to a small Ford Dealership in Manning SC and they delivered it the dealership we used in Ravenel, SC. My Wife and Son picked up the car to surprise me and drove it to Charleston SC. By the time I got the car it had 120 miles on it (LOL).

If you're an '01 Bullitt or '03/04 Mach owner, this is a must have/read book. I found the Mach 1 sections just as interesting as the initial trials and tribulations Scott and his team endured trying to get the car into production. I used to joke that the '03/04 Mach's were built with leftover Bullitt parts. Now I know that it has some of the best parts from the Ford Bullitt/Cobra, Lincoln Aviator, and Mercury Marauder programs that were going on around them.

. . . AND (Spoiler Alert) why the Shaker Hood Scoop didn't get the "Cobra Jet" script even though Scott said he loves seeing it on the late model Mach's out there. ;)

Thanks for having Scott and me there at the rally. Was an excellent time, and you have an awesome pair of Mach 1s!

Page 67 Multiple Mach Front Ends

The photo on Page 67 is a photo taken on June 7, 2008 at 6:57 PM. This photo was taken after our dinner on Saturday night. This was before JDraper, Old School and a few others suggested we have a BBQ back at the hotel since they had the grill and all. Anyways we went to an area near our hotel that was big enough for us to take some photos and be out of the way I believe Dave Wagner suggested it. This area is at the end of Richard Lane just in front of a business called Rettew Engineering Consultant. This area was just being developed with zero through traffic so it made for the perfect spot to take some photos. Scott Hoag had also showed up for photos with the group that evening.
Maybe we need to go back for an updated photo?

It would be cool to find some of those old pictures and go pack and reshoot in the same location/same people 15 years later.

Just not going to be the same cars for everyone... lol

Yes it would be a neat idea. I did this recently with a trip to Lake George in NY. Years ago I took several pictures around LG with my Mach1 and just this June was back in LG so I took my Shelby around and tried to re-capture the same photos with the new car.

Cool congrats on all the signatures and the book. I read it twice, the Mach1 section anyways. I'm slowly working my way through the Bullitt stuff but I'm a Mach1 guy so had to get my fill of Mach1 info first. I like following the book tour on here and FB. 15 years later and its still a car worth talking about.

Re: A New Book is Coming Out About the Development of '01 Bullitt & '03/'04 Mach 1

I'm not going to put out a full review of this great work, but it is obvious that it does a very nice job of chronicling the efforts of Scott and his team to get the '01 Bullitt built, as well as how those efforts got us our Mach 1s. It's quite a journey, and one that could have probably gone on for many more pages. None of it was easy and all of it was a work of passion, which makes both of these models more than the some of their parts. Even if many of those parts were off the shelf.
It makes me even more proud to know Scott, Tony, and all the great people on this site. I suspect there may be a few more stories rolling around in Scotts brain, if only Tony could unlock them and put them on paper...
Like the time when Scott, Tony, Dave and I were at the Star Trek museum in Vegas having dinner, and Scott...

Yeah, it was a trip for the ages. But getting to go to the Ford/Primedia party and meeting Camilo and seeing Chip Foose and seeing the rest of the Interceptor design team belly up to the bar for the Coyote Ugly girls giving out shots...and then all of them showing up late for the show the next morning...
You really should get a Mach 1 again...
