4.10 question

Im looking into getting the 4.10's for the mach and i didnt know if after i installed the gears if the 4.10's would mess up the speedomiter, cause i thought i heard it did mix up the speeds.....if this is true how do i fix it or what do i need to buy?

Re: 4.10 question

SpeedCal from Dallas Mustang or get the computer flashed. I used the Speedcal and it has worked fine. 4.10s are a great addition to the Mach.

Re: 4.10 question

either a speedcal or a chip/ flash tuner.
i had a speedcal in the car before i got it tuned so i had the gears left alone in the tune and just corrected with my speedcal

Re: 4.10 question

If you have a Diablo Predator you can reprogram your computer for the 4.10's. Trust me you'll love the 4.10's in your Mach. Some say kills highway mileage, but I am only pulling around 23-2400rpm at 70 with the 4.10's. In city I am still averageing around 17mpg and that was with a hot tune.

It has been said before, don't fear the gear!

Agree with what everyone has said. If you are an automatic then 4,10 gear. If a 5 speed you could concider 4.30. I an auto and the 4.10 is great. I would invest in the flash tuner. But first check your local shops to see what they work with. That will determine if yopu get a Diablo Predator or a SCT XcalII. I seen both forsale used on here and on ebay.

The preformance tunes alone will add double digit HP and you can play with alot of other stuff. You will need it down the road as you increase the mods to the engine.
