3650 to Cobra block

Hey guys im about to order a 2003 cobra long block, and have my 3650 bieng beefed up to handle 700hp. my question is will it bolt striaght up to the cobra engine or is it different than the machs? I did my rearend beef up and the will be doing the rest of my build my self just by watching alot of how to videos and write ups, know the basics but not alot, but learning.

All the modular blocks have the same bellhousing pattern. Even the Coyote block has the same pattern.

Where are you getting the 03 engine from?

Sweet ! all i needed to know thanks ! I havnt got it yet, but one looks really good on ebay. It was pulled out of a 03 with 34k miles. Guy went with a 5.0 stroker, in talks with the guy selling it.

Ok. To be honest I'd rebuild what you have with good parts. But that's just me.

If i did rebuild mine, all i would have to do is hone the cylinder holes, add forged H-beam rods and pistons, and replace what else? ive never had to build a engine, the stock Mach engine has taking alot of abuse and still going strong since i bought it in 05 when i was 18. I was just thinking of taking the easy route and just buying a 03 cobra long block.

It all depends on how you are planning to get the 700hp you desire. If you want a blower and since you already have a forged crank, you will need forged pistons and rods, upgraded oil pump, and a Cobra blower swap. You will get 500+ fairly quickly going that route. If you plan on turbos, same forged upgrades are needed but you won't need to swap intake manifolds.

I took my Mach1 engine and built it for less money than buying a Cobra long block. With the addition of a 3.4 Whipple, I am making well over 800hp to the tire.

You are going to spend more money on the power adder and fuel system rather than the forged internals and machine work. I would highly suggest working with an engine builder you trust to help you pick the parts and handle the assembly if you aren't comfortable with that aspect.

If you are going for it get the heads done, ARP everything, and new timing chain. For sure have someone who knows these motors, and has the tools.

IMO unless you come across a screamin deal on a COMPLETE eaton swap I wouldn't bother going that route. There are a few centris that will get the job done with a lot less install headaches. And don't worry about any kind of lack of torque. Once you start spinning a centri they make some pretty good torque.
