Who is King?

Of the OIL CHANGERS. I changed the oil in my wifes car and my DD today and was thinking "My God how many times have I done this" I guessed well over 400 times in my 48 years of driving and that's just cars. I did not count my trucks, motorcycles, lawn mowers, edgers, compressors, etc. If you work at a Quick lube you can't play. :notsure:

I'll play, but you're still in the lead.

25+ years at an average of 5 per year plus wife's car: I'd say 150 or so.

If he got out more he'd put even more miles on the car and it would require even more oil changes. We'd probably still hear about it.:12:

I'm just waiting for him to get so old that they take away his driver's license.:23:

Re: Who is King?

I've done my fair share, but I'm guessing I'm no where near the 250+ range.

I do have a spread sheet that shows every maintanence and every drop of gas I've put in my DD Focus. It's got 128K miles :smack: .

Re: Who is King?

I'm going to cheat and go out take out the drain plug and just keep pouring the same oil through the engine over and over ahahaha I'm the man. :D

How many oil changes would I have to do in order to become the M1R QUEEN of oil changes?

For the record, I'm sitting at ZERO right now.:23:

I thought you hate posts that remind you of how old you are. :23:

I'm too young to participate in this (I know I'm less than 100).

I am 22 and probably have a couple hundred under my belt. But then again I cheated and worked as a lube tech at a dealer before I became a service writter.

Let’s be ladies and gentlemen about this, folks. Let’s not kick a guy when he’s down. I may have gloated a bit too much when I first posted the news. But let’s recognize this for what it is. Old Guys ROCK. :yeh:

Traveling down the interstate and needing to use the restroom, I stopped at a rest area and headed to the restroom.

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying:
'Hi, how are you?'

I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom and I don't know what got into me, but I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
'Doin' just fine!'

And the other person says:
'So what are you up to?'

What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
'Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!'

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
'Can I come over?'

Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell them
'No..I'm a little busy right now!!!'

Then I hear the person say nervously...

'Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions

Cell phones, don't you just love them.

It's that time of year again. Today I serviced the lawn mower and my edger for the twentieth time. I bought them both new in 1991. Both are Hondas. If Ford made mowers and edgers I would have Fords. How about you?

Geez..dunno how many changes I've done, but it's a ton of 'em. Right now I have nine motors that require oil changes regularly...

Russ, you're a better man than me... I do oil changes on my vehicles like clockwork, but my lawn mower, weed wacker, leaf blower or any other yard thingy... I don't even check the oil, never mind change it. I just use and abuse them til they crap out.

Ha, Ha. I have a story. My neighbor across the street has a California Trimmer he has owned forever with a Briggs and Stratton cast iron engine. About a year ago it would not turn over to start. He asked for my help. I checked the oil level. No oil at all. :23: I filled it with oil, pulled the plug and squirted WD-40 in the cylinder and managed to unfreaze the piston. It's still running today. They don't make them like they used to .:worship:

Well I cant keep up with ya'll on this one.. I change all my own fluids but Its only maybe 4 a year between 2 vehicles.. The mach, and pass pleasure vehicles gets maybe 2 a year, I only put maybe 5k miles a year on them.. Mach had around 21k on it when I get it 1.5 years ago, and now about to hit 25k... Worked at a local auto shop when I was younger, but have no clue how many, plus doesnt count...
