not the most exciting thing BUT...this was ONE of the most important parts of making good power. timing and chains make a difference since these are the known OEM parts that seems to fail. SOO i upgraded to adj timing gears and Accufab secondary chains and passenger side tensioner.

Nice!

Re: New build
Nice! Trying to decide if I want to go ahead and do this when I end up taking the valve covers off to paint them. I've decided to keep my Mach indefinitely, so might as well lol.

here another update....did a nice sand out and taped up car. Put on ONE coat of polyfill in engine bay. I can say this stuff was tough to use. I went thru 4 tips (2.0) and it got hard FAST...next time I will reduce more and put less hardner in. IT was nice to fill in some spots BUT it is glaring that i have a LOT of spots to smooth over, fill and metal finish before my next primer session. PLUS gotta remember...about HALF of this poly fill will be sanded off when Iam blocking areas. I know I will prime with 2k primer next...

Great progress. Love the attention to detail.

More sanding. Taking down first layer of poly primer. It did its job for what I wanted. I will 2k (primer)it now and sand only with 240. This should give me my desired look. I have a few low spots I want to fill and smooth out in top of support and aprons.

primed again with K2 primer....let sit for a week and started water sanding this morning....i can tell you this will be as close to perfect for ME than I can get. I will finish water sanding engine bay this weekend and add one my session of k2 primer. I think that should be it before I seal the engine bay and outer aprons and go toward color and clear.

got my tubular K member back from powder coating. This is about 10 years old and was showing some age..BUT worked great and FIT perfect. My racecraft a-arms fit like a glove and couldnt see myself spending 4-500 for a new one when i could spend 50.00 on powdercoating....
Also had the lower intake blasted so I can paint..would have powdercoated BUT after speaking with ROY (who made it) we decided NOT to go that route due to epoxy resin that shaped the short runners. |

hit is with the clear....I have some rubbin to do (dirt nubs) BUT overall looks really good. Super happy with results. Will start adding suspension back into the car.

Re: New build
Looks fantastic. Far better than factory. :)

Re: New build
water sanding and polishing done. Installing suspension and brake equip this weekend. Since I ripped all the mess of brakes out I will be using ni-copper lines to route everything and updating some fittings. I do plan on keeping most of the line per say "hidden" unlike the factory stuff that is all around the engine bay. I will not be running lines across the lower core support like factory since my lower core support is now tubular and bolt in. I "might" be going the lines like a 87-93 where they are run across the firewall but with mine I will be hiding them in the cowl. I have some planning to do but will update with photos as I go along.

reassembly on its way....line lock positioned where I want it with braided lines from MC to that. I will use hard lines to connect left to right side brakes (like factory) but different routing...suspension in next BUT need my CC plates back from powder coat.
btw...dont know why the photos are flipping sideways... |
Re: New build
Wow, this thing is going to be a BEAST!
