Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
I put mine on a dyno a few weeks ago and it put down 290hp and 315tq. I have a SCT handheld base tune, 4.10's, JLT ram air intake, and a Bassani catback. I just got some BBK long tubes and plan to order a PHP intake spacer soon so once I get those put on I'm hoping to pass 300hp. Oh and my car also has 103k on the engine as well.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
I made 302/306 with jlt intake, bbk catless x and magnapacks. No tune. Also have 4:10 gears

Palmer your number sound right. Bet you will hit 302 after the long tubes.

Found my first dyno sheet! Almost 300whp, Xpipe, weld in mufflers (hooker), jlt intake, no tune

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
I've got an 04 mach manual with 100K miles. It has JLT RAI, Stock 3.55 gears, MAC off road H-Pipe, flowmaster weld in mufflers and Bama Tunes, anyone know where about I would be in terms of SAE numbers?

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
My 04 has BBK long tubes only right now, when I get back from asscrackistan it's getting a JLT Next gen CAI, BBK 65mm TB, cobra 39lb injectors, 40,000V coil packs, exeddy flywheel, and mach 500 clutch, magnaflow cat back, and a complete 31 spline conversion. And yes its getting DR's to. I'm putting 3:73's in because its a daily driver, it will get 4:30's or 56's in the future when it's just a weekend racer/driver. I'm looking forward to seeing what my dyno numbers will be. And sugestions on tuners in Texas, and on handheld like diablo SCT or bama?

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
Finally went to a dyno day.
322.5 HP and 349.5 T Mods are: Magna flow catted x-pipe and cat-back with magnapacks. JLT air intake pipe, Spectre air filter (the biggest one I could find that fits). DiabloSport Predator tune. |

That's a pretty generous dyno. |

It's from a 2016 DynoCom 6000. Not sure what you mean by generous. Is there something wrong with a DynoCom dyno?

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
I'm just saying with those simple mods your dyno numbers should be right around 300rwhp/310rwtq. If you had long tube headers I could see the 322rwhp. The 349rwtq is whacky.

It was the best of 4 pulls. HP varied from 320, 318, 312. T stayed above 340. The best was the second pull. Perhaps you're mistaken. I've noticed folks are quick to right off the Predator, and admit they're a pain to work with, but the results speak for themselves. I was actually hoping for better HP, but it's just a number, the car is quick. |
Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
A bone stock Mach is 280rwhp at best in stock form. You're not gonna get over 40rwhp from a midpipe, catback and tune. You can get a dyno to spit out whatever numbers you want depending on how it's setup. It's just whack numbers, but whatever.

FWIW my stock Mach with flow masters in place of the stock muffler only put down 268 on a mustang dyno |

Very happy dyno. That or it was done with a negative DA and the numbers were not corrected. Put it on a dynojet with an SAE correction if you want the real numbers.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
I know butt dynos lie, but ain't noooooo way my intake/full exhaust car is 320+whp lol. My catback 6.0 GTO made SAE 340-345whp on 3 back to back runs, and other than the violent 1st gear with 4.10's I have I still don't think it would pull on the GTO. Maybe it's the illusion from the power falling off over 6k rpm's, but I'm honestly a bit disappointed. I figure the only way to solve that without getting spending serious money is a ported intake/98 Cobra cams.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
I haven't put my Mach on a dyno yet.
But the 2V GT cars almost always made 220-225 stock. Mine with CAI, TB, underdrive pullies, exhaust, and 3.73 gears made 260 on a Mustang brand dyno which is notorious for reading lower than other brands. That's a nearly 40 horsepower increase with very simple bolt-ons and a tune. I have been told by the same dyno operator that Mach 1 cars generally are very well tuned from the factory and don't pick up the same kind of numbers as the GT cars do from bolt-ons and tunes. He said the biggest N/A gains he's ever seen in his shop was a guy who did very specific cams and got 50 HP on the dyno from those. |
