2004 Mach 1 Paint Codes:

CX = Dark Shadow Grey Clearcoat Metallic
CY = Competition Orange Clearcoat * (New for 2004)
D3 = Torch Red Clearcoat
D6 = Screaming Yellow Clearcoat * (New for 2004)

That's it. Get your orders in early. Ford is telling us that 3% of all 2004 Mustangs can be Mach 1's, just like in 2003. Probably less produced due to shorter production year, ending in Late April.

davecrazy 05-19-2003 10:44 AM

since it seems im not getting an 03 I should just go ahead and order an 04.

That's a ridiculous waiting period. Stick with DSG, you've got the right color. Just go shopping for an 03. If you can't seem to find one close and are willing to wait until later this year, order an 04! GOODLUCK!

farmboy 06-10-2003 03:43 PM

I ordered my Mach 2004 today and the information posted was on the money. Production is suppose to be 9/29/03

MSRP....

Just a little disclaimer, but the MSRP figures that I posted at the start of this thread were correct in May when I posted, but are subject to change as the 2004 model year goes by. It is quite normal for all automakers to adjust pricing periodically.

bullitt1853 07-04-2003 05:49 AM

Wyoming still has quite a few on lots around here for MSRP and under. Don't remember the colors but if you want a Mach 03 then do some checking. You can probably get a good deal now that the 04 are looming and they still have 03's on the floor.

Starsky 07-09-2003 11:54 AM

Are there going to be any cosmetic changes from the 2003 to the 2004? And have they fixed the passenger seat rubbing at the factory, or would you have to bring it back in? I wonder if they are aware of and addressing the paint peel on the hood that seems to be a common problem?

I just saw 3 Mach 1's at the dealer today, a torch red, yellow, and DSG. If that TR had been automatic, I would have had to fight my wife tonight..I was planning on waiting on the 05, but now Im thinking an 04 now...and consider the 06 when it comes out...

Five Oh B 07-17-2003 02:03 AM

Only changes from '03 to '04 are a couple colors. Don't know about fixes to '03 issues, but all manufacturers tend to make production changes to improve their products as problems are found.

Brian, any ideas as to why Ford arbitrarily raised the HP and Torque figures on the '04's to 310 and 335 respectively??

wannabDSG 07-17-2003 11:02 AM

I am sure there was nothing arbitrary about it. It was just Ford being cautious with this being the first production run of this engine and all. You know, just allowing themselves some breathing room. Now that they are comfortable in their production run and have seen a very good sampling of what the Mach 1's are putting out, they are re-aligning the #s closer to where they should be. I am sure, still, with a little breathing room yet.

Five Oh B 07-22-2003 01:04 AM

Jim,

I have yet to see official #'s on the '04 Mach 1 hp increase (or re-rating). Our order guides still say hp is "TBD." This is normal for all Ford order guides before the model year starts, though, and is not just the Mach 1's that say TBD now. We'll get a real # soon enough.

All of you with '03's that have dyno'd know you have more than 305hp, right?

Changes for 2004

From Ford's online Media Press Kits...

The 2004 Mustang has reduced wind noise thanks to expandable foam seals around the body, particularly the outside door handles and belt moldings on both doors.

For 2004, both V-6 and V-8 engines have improved refinement with stiffer accessory drive brackets and improved bearings to reduce variability.

Horsepower
Mach1
manual 310 hp @ 6000 rpm
auto 308 hp @ 5800 rpm

Torque
Mach1
manual 335 lb-ft @ 4200 rpm
auto 323 lb-ft @ 4750 rpm

I was at Bob Toomes(sp?) Ford in McKinney, TX a week ago and they had 6 Mach 1's. 2 black, white, dsg, azure blue, and yellow. Don't know what they were asking in regards to sticker.

Red Mach'03 08-07-2003 05:03 PM

There is a red one in Duncannon PA. I think they are asking sticker price.

I didn't say anything about '04. I know the thread is about '04's, but there was some discussion about '03's on dealers lots. They haven't even started the 04's yet!:SMASH:

Ford-O-Matic 08-15-2003 12:16 AM

GREENWAY Ford in Orlando, Fla. has a "bunch" of 03"s on
the lot. You can get 'em below sticker!
Gotta Love it!

puresynergy 10-06-2003 07:47 PM

 Our Ford dealer here in Alton Illinois will have 1 2004 comp. Orange mid Oct. and 1 in the end of Oct. ...

You can get the first one but the second one is MINE!! lol
Going to talk to them this evening yet.

Five Oh B 11-05-2003 03:29 PM

FYI, Ford did have a price increase of $145 on Mach 1's the 2nd week of October, so any more 2004 5-speed IUP's arriving will have an MSRP of $29,735. Add $815 for an automatic car.

And through Jan 6th, 2004 there is a $4,000 factory rebate on new 2003 Mach 1's and a $3,000 factory rebate on new 2004 Mach 1's. Rebate may vary by region, so check with your local dealer.

Latest Pricing on 2004's....

MSRP was raised again on 12/26/03 for new 2004 Mach 1's. Here's the new figures....

$29,760 (includes destination & delivery charge)

Optional Equipment is still:

$345 for the Interior Upgrade Package, and
$815 for the Automatic Transmission.

Those who bought early 2003 5-speeds with the IUP likely remember that MSRP was $29,290 originally. The same car now, but a fresh 2004 model, is $30,105 - an increase of $815 since Job #1.

Invoice & Plan Pricing have risen, accordingly. Both are car specific, and are printed clearly on the invoice.

I just bought a white 04 in Tx and MSRP was 29935. with iup and transportaion. less 3k rebate pd 26k even and they tinted the windows and installed the alarm at that price. I am happy as it was a replacement for my 03 DSG that was totaled. Got the 04 for < than the 03 was in 5-03.

Delos04Mach 02-03-2004 11:40 AM

I just got my Black 04 and paid 25K out the door. I was going to get an '03 but someone beat me to it and got the last one around here. I'm happy I made the switch from the GT!!!
