Paul & I will get soda, juices and adult beverages for the BBQ.

No cooler though, so I'll need to fill someone's cooler(s). :)
& I'll get bags of ice if the cooler owner lets me know it is needed.

Pot salad? whoah, I've heard of eating some leafy greens but that's a new twist. :33:

Maybe I should bring some twinkies for dessert/munchies! :23:

Seriously though I will be picking up something for the cookout when I get down there... probably some desserts or any other odds and ends that we might need.

Thats OK, I'll have my own supply. Seems like people like the Canadian beer, don't believe I've ever tried any.
And if the pot salad was smoked, it would be ash salad, wouldn't it, EH!

That sums it up. With the cost of gas, the $$s will be burning right out my exhaust.

Ray, don't worry about the dribble/drool bib. All those old Mach's came with vinyl seats and you can just wipe it off easy. The biggest problem with an old Mach like that is people almost running into you trying to get a closer look or take pictures with their camera phone while driving, right Chris  (LOL).

My total drive for the weekend is about 1000 miles

I average about 20 mpg for the trip
I did once average 28 mpg highway with stock tires

So 1000 miles @ average 20 mpg < which is a high estimate
is
50 gallons of fuel for 1 car @ 3.80 a gallon if i am lucky
so thats about 190 to 200 for 1 car
I was going to bring two this year

Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

I think the gates open at 6 or 7am. Get there early the first day and pull into GATE #3 for registration. Once you get the sticker on your car, you can drive right in.

YOu will have assigned parking in your class, so we don't have to go in together, just look for all the machs.

Here are a few restaurants south of the hotel along Rt. 15 (5-8 Miles)

Cracker Barrel & Old Country Store
395 Cumberland Pkwy, Mechanicsburg, PA
(717) 766-5113 - 1 review

Brothers Family Dining -
705 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA
(717) 697-6591
Category: Restaurant Ice Cream Parlors

TJ Rockwell's American Grill -
896 W Grantham Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA
(717) 766-4200 - 4 reviews

Hoss's Steak & Sea House -
61 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA
(717) 697-2214

Anyone in the area have any comments or want to set something up for Sat. Night? around 6:30ish.?

HAEG 05-07-2008 07:36 AM

Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

The Hoss Steak house we went to in the past was nice, (which I think was the one you mentioned), had plenty of parking, but got pretty crowded as the night went on. Good food and we all did finally get to sit in one area.

I'm always a sucker for a Cracker Barrel, but again they tend to get crowded.

On a Saturday night I guess everything is gonna be a little crowded.

Is it worth giving the Mechanicsburg Diner another chance?

Wonder if TomsMach has any suggestions for this year? Last year he suggested Marys Family Restaurant which was pretty good, to bad they are no longer in business.

The diner across the street from the hotel was the Mechanicsburg Diner, the last time we went there the service was sub-par, food was OK.
Hoss Restaurant, if they have a meeting room to reserve that would be great, food was really good. Definitely alot of parking there with the plant Nursery next store.
