Impressed with the results. Dyno numbers

So I picked up my 03 auto Mach 1 feb 2017. It's just a pleasure car I drive every now and then. It has 108k on the miles and the motor is as smooth and quiet as can be. Bone stock it put down 253 hp and 269 tq. I was happy with these numbers to be honest. Since the baseline I did an off-road h and an eBay 208.00 cat back and some screw in rear o2 sensor foolers . That's it, no tune, nothing. Another dyne day came and it pulled 277hp and 289tq on the same dyno. Very happy with the numbers for what I have invested.

That's great! I'm glad you are enjoying your Mach too. I've been thinking about getting some dyno data for mine too.

My GT with a few bolt-ons did 260/299 so if my Mach did those numbers I'd be sick to my stomach. Haha. But I am glad that you're enjoying the car and you got to take it to a dyno. Isn't it a cool experience the first time you go put your ride on a real dyno? It's awesome. That's what cars like this are all about...FUN! :gears:

Nice numbers @Turbo900rr!

The best I got with a high-flow catted H pipe, LM-1 catback, PHP intake spacer, C&L CAI, and a Diablo tune was 300-305 ish.

Good story and numbers. Maybe someone can explain this to me, why did the 4.6 make more torque than the 5.0?

Are you referring to the old school 5.0 or the coyote? If it's the old 5.0 I'm sure it's the bore vs stroke ratio. If I remember correctly the 302 had a 4.0 bore and 3.0" stroke but the 4.6 is more square. A longer stroke (typically) will get you more torque.

Feel free to step in if I'm incorrect.

Even the new 5.0s are HP over TQ. I was just curious when looking at the DOHC ve the pushrods power numbers. But, the Mach made more 320 TQ than 305 HP NA and the newer bigger 5.0 has 460 HP and 420 TQ. I'm a better driver than engine builder:tongue:
