PCV Valve

You know, I never gave a second thought about the PCV Valve on the Mach, 'till the mileage reached 75,000. I must be REAL old school, because from what I think is the PCV valve, there is a wire connected to it. It doesn't seem like it pulls straight out like the old style either. I can't find nothing on it, except that it's, HEAT CONTROLLED? I can't believe I'm asking for help on how to install a PCV valve, but there it is. I REALLY apologize for this.

PCV Valve with a wire connected to it? Are you talking about the drivers side or passenger side? The passenger side pcv valve doesnt have a wire coming from it. It connects to the intake tube. The drivers side on a stock mach I dont remember what it even looks like haha cuz I havent had a stock mach in so long now. My passenger side pcv isnt even stock.

You're right, many Mach's aren't stock anymore. I knew already yours wasn't. But, yes I'm looking on the driver side toward the end of the Valve Cover. Thanks for responding, FENIXFIRE.

Re: PCV Valve

I changed my PCV valve on the drivers side at around 50k. It has a wire on it and if i remember correctly there are two bolts and then t pulls out. Thats bugger was expensive when your expecting to spend 10 bucks!

Re: PCV Valve

I'll have to look harder. I didn't see the bolts. I thought it might be a twist in type. Rock Auto has the wired one for 27.00 I think. I'm still a little confused from what was said. I thought all the PCV valves were on the driver side. Is there a difference between '03s and '04s?

PCV is on the ds cam cover near the firewall and is bolted down and has a wire.

03 and 04 are the same. The PCV valve on the driver side does twist in to a grommet that is attached to the valve cover by bolts. I took a pic to clarify. http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...2-20143146.jpg

Thank you LOOKnGO. The pic is a BIG help. Who would have thought a PCV valve would be a topic of discussion?

I just bought one today from the local Ford dealer. Sweet talked the guy down to $35 for it, from $58. :ORANGE: I said wow, it was like $48 online that I saw in a couple of places, and he said, ok, type type type on the keyboard, how about $35?

That's probably about the same at RockAuto.com. It's 27.00 but, you have to pay shipping.

Motorcraft parts at RockAuto.com are reasonable. Even Amazon.com has some decent prices, if you catch them at the right time. Like the Motorcraft Drive Belt for only 13.99!! Now it's 24.99, still a good price.

I don't need one at the moment. I just wanted to make sure I knew what I was looking at, and you explained it. The Mach runs fine. But, if I do, I'll look you up. I know you carry many parts.
