How much power can a WAP block really handle?
Had a chat with a Hellion Turbo tech and he inform me that their single turbo kit for the Mach 1 makes about 600 rwhp with 61mm turbo :flamedevi. I know the stock bottom end won't be able to handle that power, so my plan is to replace the rotating assembly with forged internal parts, as well as have billet oil pump gear installed. My only concern is the stock WAP block, because I'm not sure how much power it can handle before I would need a cast iron or Teksid block. What are you guys' opinions and experiences with the WAP block when it comes to forced induction?

You'll be fine with the WAP block. General consensus is up to 900hp for the WAP block. Beyond that use the Teksid block. Or the newer 3V block.
Side note, I don't know what your budget is, but if you're serious about going turbo look into a custom kit. I've installed a Hellion on a 2V and I wasn't that impressed. Plus you'll end up changing/upgrading most of the parts. Misspelling brought to you by Tapatalk |

01yellerCobra thanks for the info. Looks like I'm sticking with the WAP block for now. Gonna have to upgrade my fuel system to support 600+ rwhp. Any recommendations on fuel pump, injectors, etc...?

I'm a fan of keeping it simple. Look for a terminator tank and run GT pumps. 60lb injectors should be plenty for your set up. And make sure your MAF is a blow through set up. I like the BA5000 for that. Your tuner will thank you.

George Klasse builds high horsepower engines running standard WAP blocks without boring, stroking, or hardfilling.

OP, in my signature is a link to my turbo build, may be worth some research so you can avoid all the mistakes I made along the way. :)
When you choose your kit, you have to make sure you also have the correct K-Member, suspension, etc as well. Now that I know what I know, and I have picked up a TIG, I think I would build my own kit, minus the headers, that I would purchase. But, it all comes down to budget which is a moving target. :) |

For E85 you'll need compatible pumps and at least 80lb injectors. I think the 60's top out around 450-500 on E85.
IMHO, if 600 is your goal and you know you'll stay there, stick with pump gas. It won't be an issue with a turbo set up. If you're going to want more in the future then start planning on setting the system up for E85 now. It might even be worth looking into a return system. Misspelling brought to you by Tapatalk |

I use 3 pumps for my security blanket, I run around on 1 pump, when I hit 5PSI of boost, my other two pumps kick on. I use my Eboost2 controller to notify the Fuel Pump Relays to turn the other two on. On a return system too. As far as the tank, stock tank with a CPE hat installed on it. |
