Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
Here's the first 9 03's off the line Thur 11/07/02.
The order for the top 9 are (and rotation #): 339351 0596 340807 0617 340165 0639 339471 0657 340164 0674 340811 0692 340170 0710 340364 0728 340171 0745 |
Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
Still, only 16,783 Mach 1's. In the world of limited edition cars, that number is still pretty low over a 2 year run. How many 1968-73 Mach 1's did they make? How many 76-78's did they make?

Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
I apologize if this has been asked before, but what's the reason for the difference in the 2004 production numbers shown at the beginning of this post and the numbers shown in the "Announcement" at the beginning of each forum. The latter shows the following numbers:
Total for 2004 Mach1 - 7,182 Torch Red - 1259 Azure Blue - 1316 Black - 1064 Dark Shadow Gray - 1039 Oxford White - 697 Screming Yellow -768 Comp. Orange - 1039 The former shows, for example, 787 5-speed and 251 auto DSGs for a total of 1038 DSGs. Just wondering which one is correct. Thanks |
Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
Any breakdowns of 2003 Machs for color to transmissions?
|
Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
Yeah, I'd like to see that breakdown too if anyone has it.
|
Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
OK, as a new owner I'll jump in as well; is there a breakdown of colour v transmission for the '03s?
Just curious to know where my 03 Zinc Yellow 5-spd fits in. Going to work is still a pain, but getting there just got a whole lot more fun  M-H |

Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
There is a little difference in the total number of Zinc Machs compared to what is posted here on the Mach 1 Registry.
Mach1 Reg. 869 Yellow Stang Reg. 848 Not enough to get to excited about, but it would still be nice to know for sure... Who's correct? |
Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
It simply depends on what the numbers reference. Production numbers are the most misunderstood numbers out there in car enthusiast world. There are different measurements and different sources so understanding what the numbers are representing is key.
Some sources refer to the number of actual vehicles that came off the assembly line. This could include pre-production models, models kept within Ford for testing, or for internal use never intended to leave the company. Some sources refer to the number sold to the public through dealerships. This is a number reflecting what is potentially on the road today and available for purchase. And some sources only reference U.S. sales, or maybe North American Sales only, leaving out overseas shipments all together. So both numbers are probably correct, but represent different figures. YMR's numbers reflect number sold to the public in this case. Dave's M1R number may reflect the actual units produced by Ford, not sure. |
Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
Hey Stylin99 good answer. At least that could make better sense of the numbers. I still don't understand why Ford does not offer the numbers for factual reference for the cars nuts. Like myself...

Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
Hey. If someone is going that far to look for new Numbers. Add, if it has IUP/or not, also. So for 03: Color, Tran, IUP. PS: please start with mine. 03,TorchRed,5sp,IUP.

Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
We have asked for these numerous times from Ford. We may never get them. Sorry. But we will still try.

Thank you gentleman
Can't believe it's that big of a secret, Ford is being silly. I always get told they don't track those numbers. I take the numbers posted here on the registry as the word, no one can dispute them. Other sites have very similar numbers, if not exactly the same. |

Something happed at Ford . about Ford not keeping track of of production numbers for 2004 Mustangs and break down of colors and trans. |
Re: Production Numbers !!! :)
Gotta agree with Frank on this one. Something Must have happened. Becasue they DO in FACT track this info: And it is available on other Ford Vehicles. Seems their Glitch in their data, just surrounds this period in question. Me thinks someone might have left their employ on not so good of terms.

I have a "Friend" at FORD. He is a Number's Cruncher. He claims that data is available, though not readily handy, and requires research. He has come up with a lot of data so far for me on my Cars. Mainly T-Birds, and has been able to detect any research requests for our clubs. Also for My Mustangs. He now has all the codes, and is doing an un-offical research project on the Mach1's for 03. I'll keep you posted here. His search goes beyond Oasis.

He is VERY aware that there will be a lot of interest on this. and he is in a hurry-up mode. The numbers are there. Just not all in the same place, but trackable.
