I thought 5K was a rather small number. I did read this in the current issue however. I concede if you have any connections/sources they are better than mine.

If they had said they were making 9000 I still would have bought one as well, but I probably would have waited a bit instead of rushing out and buying the first one available at a dealer (since I was under the impression that every mach was spoken for and the dealer said they would have only 3 for general sale) Oh well, live and learn. It's an incredible car, I just wish I could have saved myself 10-20% on the price like people buying them now. ;)

sshakrr 10-21-2003 07:19 PM

yes we all would have liked to get a better price on the mach. here it is 5 months later and i dont regret it at all!! it was worth it to me at least knowing that when the car i ordered came in, i was able to get the full delivery treatment of MY car. i got pics of it on the delivery truck, being unloaded, and with all the stickers and plastic intact. Best of all it rested at the dealer only for 2 hours then on to its new home. nobody had the chance to oogle and drool over it and lean on it , etc. Yes i like many others paid more than the newer owners, but all that quickly gets forgotten when you drop the hammer!!!:D

Dave,

Big thanks for getting these numbers. I knew, with your clout with Ford, you could uncover the numbers on these cars. Thanks again for this site and it's information.

White 2004 Mach on lot in Kearney NE

I just noticed my local dealer has a white/auto 2004 Mach on the lot.

Red Mach'03 10-24-2003 07:45 AM

There is a 04' comp orange in mifflintown PA. 5 speed. interior upgrade package.

03 MACH 10-27-2003 11:51 PM

I would have thought less MACHs and more COBRAs. My local dealer got only 3 machs and 30+cobras.

I dont think our numbers are right just found this check 03 cobra numbers 13.476 I think the mach numbers are lower then 9652 thats alot of machs. i say it will be 5000-6000 machs my 02.

twomachs 11-14-2003 10:50 PM

The count is right!

I have corresponded with the plant manager of the Dearborn assembly plant and he confirmed the 9652 for the total number of 03 Mach 1s. When I contacted him with the question I didn't say what number I had heard and he asked me to give him a day to check it out. When he sent his e-mail the next day it was the same number we have reported here.

I would have gotten mine anyway! In fact, if they didn't build more I might not have been able to get one.

Stangfan 11-15-2003 09:11 PM

I am hoping that we will be able to find out how many Mach 1s were built for export to Canada.

So how many comp orange cars were made? It seems that's going to change these numbers unless I missed it on your post.

Check here for numbers the yellow Mach1s;)

03 DOHC Mach 09-30-2004 12:22 AM

Just seen over at Yellow Mustang Registry, they have the Zinc Yellow Mach1's broke down to 703 Manual and 145 Auto. 848 total! Why can't we get that with all colors? See Here! Doesn't add up right to the 869 that we have stated here. Also over there they say only 2223 Azure Blue Mach1's, compared to our 2250. See Here!

Just wondering if we will ever get this figured out?:??:

02mach1 09-30-2004 03:46 AM

We got numbers Ford and they are right yellow registry is wrong,;)

03 DOHC Mach 09-30-2004 04:05 AM

Well, Frank, They say that their #'s are from Ford also.

Just wondering?

If you pay attention to the paragraph before the numbers, it explains your question and the discrepancies exactly. YMR represents units SOLD TO THE PUBLIC. Many other sources report ACTUAL UNITS PRODUCED. Due to some cars being used for Ford internal purposes, testing, etc., they are not sold to the public.

As true as that may be, I doubt 21 yellow Mach 1's were used for testing.:??: :??: :??:

We got our from # Head of Mustang production mangment:confused:

SHKR281 11-01-2004 09:16 PM

But how do you know what number you are?

falcongtho3 11-01-2004 09:42 PM

You don't. Mach 1's were not sequentially numbered like the Cobras and Bullitts. A few of the very early cars were documented as to their sequence, but after the first day it's a complete crap shoot. Mine is #16 and POLS is #2. There are a few others here that know their production number, but Ford did not provide it.

02mach1 11-02-2004 12:11 AM

Like FalconGT said the Mach1s don't have numbers like the Bullitt or SVT Cobras , sorry.
