My Dyno Session with Mach 1
I decided to come out to Hawk Speed & Custom's 2nd Annual Dyno Day in Huachuca City, AZ just to see what the Mach put down before installing Procharger D-1X in the fall. They were doing 3 pulls for $50. Had a decent amount of cars that showed up, Corvette Z06s, 392 Challengers, Roush supercharged '16 Mustang GT, '03 Mustang GT, Camaro SS, BMW 335i, Ford F-350, Scout II, SRT Neon, Turbocharged Honda Civics, Dodge Ram SRT-10, etc...The only performance mods I have done to the Mach are Borla Stingers catback, C&L intake, and a Bama 91 octane canned tune (No 93 octane in AZ).
Results below: Run #1: HP: 282.7 @ 4200(RPM), Torque: 370.4 @ 3750(RPM) Run #2: HP: 284.0 @ 4550(RPM), Torque: 352.5 @ 3900(RPM) Run #3: HP: 285.2 @ 4400(RPM), Torque: 354.4 @ 3700(RPM) Fuel: Shell 91 octane pump gas Elevation: ~4,400 feet (Huachuca City, AZ) Temperature: Between 78.4-79.3 degrees fahrenheit Humidity: 4-5% Date: April 14, 2018 Time of Day: 2:16-2:18pm Gear Ratio: 3.55 (Stock) |
Re: My Dyno Session with Mach 1
I'm not understanding the low RPM's for the horsepower and the astronomical torque numbers. Is that an elevation thing or what?

Re: My Dyno Session with Mach 1
Yeah, when I checked the dyno sheet, I was a little confused by the torque numbers too. I do believe the elevation is the key factor in my dyno results. I wish I had datalogged my dyno runs too. The numbers are pretty consistent between pulls though, with the exception of the TQ # in 1st pull.

Re: My Dyno Session with Mach 1
Why is your horsepower peaking so low? Power on these cars usually peaks at around 6000 RPM. Also there is only a 500 RPM spread between the torque and horsepower peak? That looks way wrong.

Re: My Dyno Session with Mach 1
On the first pull, I got off the accelerator around 5k, because I heard a weird noise coming from the engine bay, but it stopped and didn't hear it again.

Re: My Dyno Session with Mach 1
I know this sounds strange but I was having an issue with dyno pulls a couple years ago, and the tuner saw a voltage fluxuation from the alternator. Replaced it went back, and it cleared up my problem.
