I think thats thats the problem. Have to ask the ford dealer if he has a gap adjust tool or so.

Kove 08-14-2012 08:01 AM

Yea, I would definitely get those plugs taken care of first. You can get a gap tool really cheap at any parts store. .078 is a huge gap. You can get NGK plugs at Autozone pre gapped for like $16.

We dont have something like Autozone here in Switzerland :eyes:

NGK TR6 should be good or?

Kove 08-14-2012 08:21 AM

Oh ok, I didn't know where you were. The TR6 is probably the most popular plug among Terminators and Eaton swapped Mach 1s.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Ngk tr6 or part number ngk4177, gap them at .032 or if you have a feeler gauge it would work also. That's prob why your getting some sort of detonation.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

I hope thats the problem, would pissing me off if its not that. Is that normal, that the eaton and the headers gets so hot in a very short time? I'd just started the engine again for about 3-5min.

Just tried whats happen when I disconnect the IAC. The idle starting to moving between 900-1300 rpms again. Is it possible that the new MAF and injectors cause this problem?

I also found some theards, where the harmonic balancer cause a wobbeling of the engine. I bought a brand new balancer.

Do someone know a good address where I can get a "safe" tune? The tuner I know seems to be on holiday at the moment.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Okay, I have to ask you guys all this simple question. Realistically (parts, labor, etc.) how much does it cost to get your Mach Eaton swapped. I'm currently deployed and I'm looking at doing this for myself when I get back. Anyone that would be willing to help me scour parts/get connections to good parts would be greatly aappreciated. FURTHERMORE I will also likely be installing forged pistons and rods since my crank is already forged.

Thanks for all of your help, and anyone that can lend me some advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if i'll be able to scavage up all these parts on my own so I'll need some help. Thanks again guys!

Re: Eaton Swap.....

IIRC, I had to trim the bottom of it because the heat exchanger was pushing down on it.

Re: Eaton Swap.....

Hey guys! I'm new to the site, this is the first I've really used it for anything anyway.. So, I bought an 03' Mach a few months back, and the other day at work (I'm a tech for a local dealer, Benz though, not Ford) I had the opportunity to drive a Roush charged 08' GT we took in on trade, and it was the first supercharged Mustang I've actually had the chance to drive. Let's just say between the noticeable power difference and the whine, I was sold. So I started researching about twin screw blowers since all I could find were centrifugal kits for the Mach, and it led me here. I spent the last 3 days reading every post on this forum in my free time, lol! So I was wondering, when it comes to sourcing used parts, what do you guys recommend, or I should say, where do you recommend I look? Ebay? I searched "cobra supercharger" and got a few of the blowers themselves and a couple lower intakes, ect. But are there more sources I could search through to find everything I could get used for a decent price? Thanks! This thread is great btw! Honestly entertaining to read through! :yeh:

There's usually a few parts around this forum, but your best to find most of thr parts on svtp (svtperformance.com) look in the market section, 03/04 cobra parts.

I kept seeing SVTP throughout the thread and wondering what you guys were talking about.. Alright great! Thanks! I'll check it out!

Are you saying a '01 Cobra bumper cover? I've got a '01 Cobra bumper cover on mine and I didn't have to do any trimming. That's with a stock Cobra H/E though.

If you find a Eaton swap kit that's somewhat complete, that's the most cost efficient means of doing the swap. To buy all the parts individually would be ridiculously expensive and probably not worth it. Eaton swap kits usually pop up on here and SVTP quite often, just watch the forums.

Not quite, as I bought all my parts (separate used/new) $2100

Re: Eaton Swap.....

I paid about 3k for mine, but I ended up with like 2 kits and sold the other one off for the complete price and got mine for about the price of a tune...

THat was buying all hte parts seperately.
