Re: Official Procharger HP/TQ/mods thread:

So far I have about 2,000 mi. on my Mach1 after installing the Procharger. I had to do a little machining and some modifications to the kit as I did the install, but it worked out fine. It runs great and I'm very happy with it. The only thing that bothers me a little is the rattling sound it has at idle that's been there since day one. I've been told that it's just because of backlash in the straight cut gears, and it does go away as soon as the rpm goes up off of idle. It's just what the Mach needed!

Stock Bottom end: Yes

Head unit: P1SC

Pulley Size: 4.00" / 8#'s of boost @ 6,500 rpm

Stock Bottom End: YES

Head Unit: D-1SC

Pulley Size and Boost Level: 13 lbs at 6500 rpm

Fuel System: 44 lb. injectors, SCT MAF, Ford Racing GT 40 Pump with Kenne Bell Boost a Pump

Tuner: Tuned by Tim Barth at the now defunct Modular Powerhouse in Cartersville, Ga.

Other Mods: BBK throttle body, SLP long tubes, x pipe, Loud Mouth with dumps. Engine is otherwise stock.

RWHP/RWTQ: 509 RWHP and 430 RWTQ Tim went conservative at 13 degrees cause the car was my daily driver and didn't want to chuck a rod out the side at that boost level. Fuel is an issue up top but otherwise a dead reliable tune indeed.

Stock bottom is not reliable for more than about 450 maybe 475.

I totally agree but I drove this car around daily for almost 2 years with this setup. I have the utmost confidence in Tim's tuning ability I just wish they didn't close the shop. I've driven this car from Ft. Stewart to Pittsburgh and back numerous occasions and still get over 20 mpg on the highway. I'm looking to ditch the D1 for a forged short block and some twins hopefully in the coming months. We'll see

Not to hijack, but should the A/F ratio be 11.8-12.0 under WOT? I'm having my car dyno'd in a week or two and just want to make sure I have my numbers right.

11.8 is about as lean as I would go. I would shoot more in line with a 11.2-11.7.

How many miles when you put on setup and how many does it have now? What size pulley are you running?

Mustang Dyno?

i hear alot of people saying 450 is that safe number but i called procharger two times and spoke to two different guys and one guy said your fine at 480 and the other said 500, both said with a very good tune and a very good fuel system. and they also said to turn it 7000 rpms.

Obviously the motor can take those numbers, maybe once while on a dyno, but for a sustained life i dont think so. Ask the procharger people how many of them have a Mach 1 and pushed the numbers they are saying for any period of time. My hunch would be none.

BTW 450 on a loaded dyno (Mustang) should be nearer 490-500 on a non-loaded dyno (Dyno-Jet). That is based of the accepted 10% difference in a loaded vs non-loaded dyno.
