Wow! Those are some surprising numbers, if they're accurate. It does show which color is the best...but we all knew that already!:D I hope Ford gets off of their corporate behind to get you some numbers to back this up...or clarify any differences. This would definitly a big change from the promised 6,500 unit production originally stated.

I'd take the numbers with a grain of salt, since the Cobra prod numbers are incorrect. I have a friend with an 03 Cobra and he called SVT. Here's what he got for the Cobra numbers.
Coupe-8394 'vert-5024 TOTAL-13418 EDIT: Here's a link to the SVTOA thread. http://www.svtownersassociation.com/...&threadid=4583 |
Dave,
Thanks for getting this information. Sounds crediable. Even though production was more than what Ford originally stated, I am glad to see that it was less than Cobra total production. |
Interesting numbers...

If those numbers are true< It would seem I've got the one of the most rare! Oxford white/auto.
|
By those numbers, you are right. Only about 155 whites with autos. Wonder how many have the IUP or not.
|
Yes!! These are from Team Mustang, I just recieved this morning and OK'd by Paul Russell (Mustang Brand Mgr.) !!!
|
Dave, why don't the Cobra numbers match up with what SVT is putting out?

ok if we started at 300000 and we have found 454960 then thats at least 154960 ????? and svt doesnt agree with tms #'s???

WOW!!!! That a far cry from the 5,000, 6500, or 7500 numbers everybody was talking about. No wonder there are so many '03 Mach 1's sitting on dealer lots. So should should I start using, "1 of 1611" in my signature or wait? |
very inter~rest~ting, one of 814 w/Iup!:MADNOEL:

9,652 or 6,500 - either way, I love it!

" The Centennial editions will be available in Ford dealer showrooms in spring 2003. Production will be limited to 3,000 units each for Mustang, Focus, and Super Duty and 4,000 units for Explorer and Taurus. Pricing will be announced closer to introduction."

Re: Production Numbers
Dave I got an e-mail from them just morning too, if you got white Mach1 auto. you got a rare Mach1 now:cool:
|
Thats cool...I have one of the rare colors then. Pretty amazing that the Mach 1's are rarer than the 03 Cobra's.
Thanks for the info! |

Sorry, couldn't resist! j/k |
Overall TOTAL was 150, 601 INCLUDING the Mach's.
The GT's are correct at 26,238, those do NOT include the Mach 1. The Mach's are separate at the bottom |
I'll never believe Ford again when they say limited edition.
I still love my car no matter what, but I hate being lied to. :!!:  |

Well, at least parts availability shouldn't be an issue in 10 years. There is an upside to a slightly higher production. I still feel my Mach is definitely NOT COMMON. I think the real kicker is that there are more '03 Cobras than '03 Machs. We all have a special breed of pony that's for sure. Later, Dan

Well, to put it into perspective, Ford built approx. 72,000 Mach's in 1969. And of that number, almost 13,000 with the 428 CJ. That year Ford built 299,000 Mustangs, so that comes down to about 24% being Mach's. Compared to the 6% of production that these cars are, that is a limited edition. My Winter Blue Cobra Jet is rare, however, based on these production numbers, the Azure Blue is pretty rare also. I think that Ford did a good job of judging demand & price so that the car retains it's exclusivity. I spoke with Art Hyde back in May and he told me that the Mach was the most profitable Mustang ever for Ford. With Ford's financial situation, they need to sell cars that they make money on, so I guess we should be glad that they did excercise some control and didn't flood the showrooms with Mach's.
