http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...pstjv9cm6v.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...pssrjnmj5p.jpg It came with bracket that bolt to the chassis but i cannot figure out these little ones with the grommet. |
Re: BRake line question
Is that the bracket that supposed slide onto the LCA?

Re: BRake line question
I don't recall one ever being on the lca? Just the e brake cables
|
Re: BRake line question
yeah I think your right about it being the ebrake cable
I couldnt remember which one it was |
Re: BRake line question
You need a pic? No problem shooting a quick one for you, I have Russell lines and don't remember that tab on there
|
Re: BRake line question
If you want, I'm thinking maybe the line is made for multiple applications ? They have 94-98 lines on their site and they don't have the tab..... I figure I'd just snip them off but with my luck ill cut them then realize what their purpose is lol. Figure maybe to zip tie the line up so it doesnt sag down ? I cant figure anything else, the kit came with new brackets to bolt to the frame and then the line sits in that and is held with a retaining clip it looks like.

Re: BRake line question
I think you are right, mine had the big plate already attached, kinda looks like the tab goes to that, maybe some applications don't use the big one. I am gonna look real quick.

Re: BRake line question
Yea, our cars deff use the big L brackets that mount to the chassis but that should be all. Probably just slide them up to the bracket and zip tie them up incase i ever find a need for them.
|
Re: BRake line question
Oh I see now they slide up, are they what the big bracket attaches to?? How would you attach that big bracket, mine was solid on the cable.
|
Re: BRake line question
So, the the big brackets are bolted to the frame, the little bent tab goes into a locating hole, its then fastened to the car with a bolt. The brake line goes through the big hole on the bent portion and you use a retaining clip to hold it there.

Re: BRake line question
I got it, just gives some flexability in mount locations

Re: BRake line question
I shot a quick pic, on mine that big bracket is permanently attached, think you said it right, kinda a universal set you got there
http://i.imgur.com/UoPwkkZ.jpg BTW, I have never heard of that brand |
Re: BRake line question
I see your line is zip tied to what im assuming is the E brake cable. Perhaps that is what it is for after all, the kit is specific to 99-04 and they have a separate kit for earlier models.
edit: nevermind yours has the hard line tied not the braided, interesting. |

Re: BRake line question
Pissed, everything always comes right apart as it should on my car..... Went to take the right rear brake line off to replace with the steel braided, when the fitting came loose it was stuck to the line and twisted it like a god **** pretzel..... Used some penetrating lube on the drivers and it came right off....
