New build

2 Attachment(s)
Going new direction and decided to upgrade the power adder to a 88M turbo combo. This will be a max effort build with a few exceptions...still going to keep "some" creature comforts...ie interior MUST be kept...with NO hackery...lol
I will "occasionally" drive it on the street as I do like to hit a cruise once in a while and make a few weekend rides so that will be a must.

I have since pulled the motor and drivetrain...sold the F1a and will be upgrading my rods as well. Current combo is a stroked 4.6 with Manley 5.85 rods with upgraded ARP bolts. I do plan on making north of 1000 HP so I have decided to upgrade the rods while I have the motor out.

Few pics of progress...

Also looking forward to the build! Which turbo will you be using? Lots of choices for 1000whp.

forced inductions...488sx (t6 1.15 A/R) with a 96mm wheel....Borg Warner with FI's race housing....should make a TON..
:)

Re: New build

gotta say one thing though...having a BOLT in lower radiator support made pulling entire drivetrain SUPER SUPER easy....once I disconnected the main harness, exh and few wiring grounds..it was out in less than an hour. I dropped everything onto a dolly and wammo...out...easy!
FOR guys willing to go that route I HIGHLY recommend it....

Wow, that's a monster. Have you plotted a compressor map?

That's a good idea, after pulling mine a few times I which I had done that. Wait, I still have A/C and would have to deal with the condenser and freon... doh.

I have not...but have seen it in a similar combo to what mine will be and with a conservative tune he made over 1200...

Re: New build

Just making sure you know that'll make more like 1300whp. :-)
Twice I've had too big of a turbo and ended up going a step down. Trying to save you from buying two turbos.

To be honest...I was told it could make OVER 1500 but we were going to keep boost and tune around the 1100-1200 range.

It's going to be sick that's for sure. What made you get rid of the F1?

well....to be honest...running a COG driven f1 was hard to control cooling temps. even with a full radiator i ran into IAT temps on rise. I added nitrous to cool temps and took advantage of extra torque BUT that caused a sleeve to drop in my teksid. ONCE that happened I actually had planned on a quick rebuild BUT got a great offer on selling my F1 setup to switch to turbo....so here we go
