Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
How is your cruise control working?
That was the other problem with mine. It was fine on all issues when I got it back from Accufab. |
Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
Haven't tried the cruise yet. Trying to eliminate the hanging idle first. One problem at a time.

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
Cruise doesn't work. Guess I'll be sending the TB back to be worked on.

If it won't come on at all it could be something else. I think the pictures in the thread below may help, check around post 35ish in the thread. http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...cruise+control |
Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
Oh, it comes on but it drops 5mph then gives it a shot of gas and drops 5mph.
I just compared mine to your pics. Mine is setup like your before picture. I bought it brand new (still sealed in the box) from a member on here. I was afraid when he told me how long he had had it, that it would have to go back. No complaints, I think it will be a great mod was the bugs are worked out. |
Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
Did mine a week or two ago and nothing but good results so far. Car definitely has more snap to it.....punch it from an idle and it immediately blazes the tires. If you kick it from a slow roll, it will roll the tires over on the downshift to 1st, then bark/lay a decent patch when it hits 2nd. Will know for sure how much it helped when I hit the track tomorrow night. Has definitely made the car more fun to drive....all for next to nothing, other than the time I spent making it....lol.

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
Purchased one of the stainless ones on Ebay. I could have done this in the machine shop but I just don't have time right now since I dont actually work in the shop.

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
I have a 01 Bullitt and I tried this mod. However, my IAC only has 1 hole. Does this affect anything? Also, when I tried a 7/32", my idle was actually higher at 1200 rpms rather than when I went with a bigger hole of 10/32 (5/16") at 750 rpms. And I did disconnect my battery for 30 minutes (it reset everything). I wonder why this happens because I thought the smaller the hole, the lower the rpms. I know the bullitt has underdrive pulleys so that may be keeping them up, I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Austin |
Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
I looked at the back where the iac is and it looks like you dont have to take the shaker off?

Need Help
my idle is at 1krpms how do i get them down. the drivers side hole is as big as the gasket and the passenger side. small hole is 9/32 or a little bit smaller

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
The restrictor just drops the rpm faster so if your TPS is set correctly, I would give it awhile to settle in. If it's been awhile already you may have to look at some other stuff. Have you seen how it does without the IAC restrictor plate installed? I was having issues until I removed mine, eventually I reinstalled it with a larger small hole. :smokin:

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
thanks i got a new pcv valve.. i heard that might be the reason it idles so high..it went bad?? i drilled on hole the one on the drivers side to match the gasket. then the one on passanger side 5/32 and it works really good.. im just stuck with the high rpms at idle! any help would be good!

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
took mach out for a spin again, it was fun... especially with slp lm1's, has anyone tried a voltage stabiliser i bought one and you notice a difference right away it makes mach humble and sounds smooth there a product in the market that cost 200 something that i plan to buy that works best from what i currently have .... sun auto products voltage stabilizer with ground kit, i was amazed how better the electrical on mach functioned better and saved more fuel at the same time giving me more fun time to take mach out for a spin... oh and while shifting i guess its natural for rpms to drop slowly but i know it can go faster with that restrictorplate first time i paid attention while shifting...

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
Hey guys, I know I'm a little late on this one, but I'd like to get a restrictor plate. I PMed Donathan about getting one but haven't heard back from him. Who else fabricates/sells them? I'm sick of my hanging RPMs! Thanks guys.

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
NC Mach 1
I have been using one of his plates for the past 4+ years and highly recommend him. |
Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
well when i start my car in the morning when its 30 degrees out isnt it supposed to idle a little high until it heats up? if i put this peice in the iac and it starts up and goes to 800 when its freezing out that could be bad?
|
Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
That doesn't happen with mine, although our typical lowest temperatures during the winter rarely get under 20 degrees,
|
Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
oo ok well i was just curious because everyone i know when they start their car when its cold it idles high for a little until it gets warm.... like every car ever does that.....at least in MA:(
|
Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
I might have stated that wrong in my post. Mine idles high after cold starting, as it should. It's once the engine is warmed up, on deceleration, that the IAC plate works to drop the revs more quickly. Sorry if my post wasn't very clear.

Re: Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside.
ohh okay i just wanted to make sure of that because when its 10 degrees out in december and i start my car and the revs are at 800 i might be a little worried
