Agreed, in addition I had the rear fluid (synthetic) changed. You don't have many miles on the car, but that original stuff has been in there a long time.

I bought my Mach without knowing it had a hairline fracture in the coolant overflow tank cap. Not the reservoir just the cap so I never saw it leak. Until it started overheating on me. I got lucky and only blew my manifold gaskets down the road after I did a full coolant change and burp procedure along with a brand new cap and overflow tank overhaul. Just goes to show you can never be too careful when buying a car.

Ten four....good thing you were able to figure it out.....I had a leaky old school metal cap on my GMC truck radiator on vacation in a small town in Wyoming & bought a new one @ Napa for $ 10.00 & was back on the road

It's often the smallest fixes that make things work. Hell I was ready to pull the radiator, get a new fan, spend $200 having the dealership check it out... turns out a $5 cap is the answer.

I have had a problem twice where my coolant level was dropping and the car was running warm so I was ready to pull the engine and do a rebuild. Both times the cap wasn't holding pressure.

Looks like you also live in California.....just wondering if your car also blows warm air out vent s with A/C off on fairly warm days....over70 - 75 degrees.....my a/c works great & car is like new.....just seems like maybe I'm getting warm air from engine ?......or maybe its just a big V-8 in a small car ?

No not really. My ac works well but I don't get anything noticeable coming thru the vents.

Yeah you should be good. I've never really heard of that being an issue.
