Header/Catted X pipe question?

Ok, so I want to go with the Magnaflow catted X pipe and the Magnaflow catback exhaust. I also would like to go with headers down the road, (longtubes of some sort?) will headers fit on this X pipe or will I have to get a shorty X pipe? How does that all work.

Re: Header/Catted X pipe question?

I have the MF catted x and the MF catback also. In order to make this X pipe work with LTs in the future you will have to cut and weld on it. My suggestion would be a Bassani catted x and the MF catback. The Bassani X is not one piece like the MF catted x. The Bassani X is put together with several pipes that clamp verses the MF X is a one piece unit. This in turn will allow you to run stock manifolds for now and later when you get the LTs you can buy the kit to just bolt the Bassani X to the Lts.

If you went with Longtubes they would not bolt up to the Magnaflow midpipe. SLP and Bassani are two companies that make midpipes that can bolt up to Longtubes down the line.

Thanks for your input, is bassani the better X pipe than the SLP? Is it a major PITA to do the header conversion with the bassani X pipe or not to difficult? Thanks, Lance

Re: Header/Catted X pipe question?

No its not to hard to do the conversion. Bassani doesn't make Longtubes just Midlengths which are a pain in the butt to install. Both SLP and Bassani are good quality.

Re: Header/Catted X pipe question?

I just installed Bassani's Catted X and it comes in 5 pieces, 2 front tubes, 2 cats and the Xpipe, so I imagine all you will have to do later is change out the 2 front pieces to install headers. I really like the sound and I haven't put on my catback yet. It was an easy install.

Re: Header/Catted X pipe question?

I would reccomend the SLP ecspecially since SLP makes L/T's and the headers/midpipe are designed to go together its one reason I went with my SLP pipe
As for C/B Id have to say BORLA
