If Danica's done for the night, I've got a job for her.

Re: NASCAR thread

Holy jumping Jesus! That gibbering IDIOT Darrell Waltrip just said that all the NASCAR drivers have "taken a lesson" from Danica Patrick. Time to turn off the sound or find something else to watch.

And he was talking about Jimmy Johnson, of all people. Danica couldn't carry the jockstrap of the person who could introduce her to the person who once met the guy who carries Johnson's jock.

Is there ANYBODY, covering ANY sport (curling, darts, ANYTHING) ANYWHERE in the known universe who sucks as bad as this homo? If we are lucky he will choke while trying to say the word Toyota for the 4253rd time before the second commercial break.

Taking the hands off the wheel is not something that was done prior.
She did it over the weekend, and JJ did it just now.
Good idea.
Saves a broken wrist.

I've seen it done plenty of times over the years, especially by guys with open wheel experience like Tony Stewart or Robby Gordon. Danica didn't invent it.

NASCAR has become a Danica-fest and I am surprised you are ok with Toilet Boy ramming it down your throat.

With a Cup car's slower steering, larger steering wheels and power assist it's not really as much of an issue anyway, name me one driver who has suffered a broken wrist in a crash.

Thank you, I stand duly corrected.

But I don't think it will catch on in NASCAR like in other series. Many times after impact you end up back on the racing surface and exposed to FAR more danger than a broken wrist that might be averted or assaged somewhat depending on the position of your car on the track, so it seems to me it would behove a driver to do what he could to control the car to whatever extent possible.

Holy fire!!!! Never seen that happen before. A car slam into the back of a jet dryer.

Re: NASCAR thread

Holy crap! The jet dryer truck is smashed and on fire! What a truly bizarre race this has become.

The only car in the sprint cup series Montoya hasnt wrecked now is the pace car:smack:

Re: NASCAR thread

Montoya has a problem with running over stuff during cautions, just ask Michael Schumacher.

Don't worry, jet fuel doesn't burn hot enough to damage concrete or steel, right?

Rice_slayer 02-27-2012 10:16 PM

Re: NASCAR thread

I think after this race, Indy/F1 car drivers should NOT be allowed to race in the nascar series...

birdman941 02-27-2012 10:20 PM

Re: NASCAR thread

Jet dryers should have a fuel cell.
Drivers should NOT remove their helmets until the car is stopped after the race.
Why?
Ask Lee Shepherd.

Re: NASCAR thread

I don't blame Montoya for this. He went into the pits cause his car didn't feel right but his crew said they didn't see anything wrong. They sent him back out and he had a mechanical failure causing this wreck.
