Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
If you have a 2 stage kit with a 50hp shot per stage, then technically you are running 100hp shot, correct? Specifically a compucar setup with .037N & .026G jets for each stage?

Ive never dynoed the car but I think im in the 320 rwhp range n/a and 410/500 on bottle wich is really close to you. PM me for my # if you wanna dicsuss a bit further, ive been playing with nitrous for a while and know my way around it a bit. |
Re: Offical Nitrous numbers thread
Yeah, I have no idea how I'm only trapping 110. The 107 N/A was with the 3.55s I've yet to make a pass off the bottle with the 4.10s.
I typically run it around 1000psi. Might go this Thursday or next Thursday and put some race gas in it and pull the seats out. |
Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
Ok mach guru's,. Need your advice. My 03 mach has 70k on the clock, and has lived a pretty babied life,..i do run it occasionally, and my best time is a 12.80 in 1/4. The engine is stock except for cai, off road x, magnaflo exhaust, 4.10's,sct tune and 315/35 drag radials. So heres the question: I'd like to put 100 shot on this car, as it seems to be the best bang for my budget, in your opinion would you do-it,..? If yes which way would you go,wet or dry,..this would be done strictly for the friday nite track trips,.and it only gets ran a couple time a month. I know hindsite is 20/20,..so please give some insight on your hindsight..thanks

Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
****. is it the NANO that gives the nitrous its extra kick? cause my numbers were 312/320 n/a and 410/450 with a 100 shot
|
Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
well it was a full bottle with a high flow valve and the nano just keeps the pressure at 1100psi. its about 40* today so it had really cool air also.

Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
**** man, without the graph and stuff i would call ********. but thats some impressive numbers :worship: pretty much made as much power as my ported eaton, but with more torque.
|
Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
from 40 i put atleast a full car if not more on a 500+hp cobra with a ported and pullied blower. its on my youtube page. baad2003mach1. but as u can see on the graph the torque is very short lived at 560. id say its closer to 500tq through out most of the dyno chart.

Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
nice vids! car def rides out. Making a good name for machs! haha

Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
I especially liked the comment of the gto owner after you walked him. LOL.
Strong car! Stock trans still? |
Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
So pretty much my power adders will be: JLT rai, catted Mac h-pipe, cat back, upper intake spacer.
All I need is colder plugs for a 75 wet NX kit? I'm just a bit concerned on the shity gas we get here in Cali. I'm assuming a tune would make the car run better and I should get the sct chip so i can switch off from valet to NA tune and one for nitrous? |
Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
Do/did any of you NX people have a strut tower brace? If so, did it get in the way or did your nitrous kit (NX EFI single nozzle kit SKU #20922-10) fit without having to remove/relocate the brace or hood scoop or various other stuff and things?
Thanks Matt |

This is an oldie but I saw the quote by not a gt. 20/20 would I do it again ? No. It's still not set but overall its been a number of headaches. Partially my fault and some not. I was told what would be the best location for my nozzle. Which ended up being the worst and caused a ton of puddling in my intake boot. My car now has 40k on it and the stock fuel pump was appearing as it couldn't keep up with a 50 shot let alone a 100. But this may have had to do with the fact all my fuel was trapped in my intake and the nitrous was probably getting to the cylinders so I think I was basically smacking it with a dry shot but no extra fuel. Long story short upgraded fuel pump, went back on dyno and discovered the puddle issue. Now have a plate and will be going back in spring to get it all worked out. Wont say that I regret it yet. But, had I the patience I would have held out and kept putting that spare cash aside for a turbo setup. I'm not at all saying don't go n20, I'm not upset that I went this route. I'd like to go turbo later and if I do I'll keep the nitrous on the car too. I just wonder often had I not been given that poor advice on nozzle location, would my first dyno trip gone smooth ? Between the kit, the what I feel are needed extras window switch/little fittings and nice steel braided lines and going from a nozzle to a $300 plate I've got some money sank into this. So in MY situation, looking back no it was a major pita and I could have saved and just went with boost from the start. However MY situation is not all that common. I will say though after having this happen id never put a kit on and not get a dyno tune, ever. After all of this there is a company I will no longer deal with.... |
Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
Great "real world "reply Explosive, thanks. I didn't realize how long ago this was, went P1 instead, and learned ANY power adder has its issues and challenges..(you with Nitrous, me with belt shredding and TKAT13 with turbo woes). If you take on each issue and have a plan in advance , it can only make it go smoother, but there WILL be days it will have you thinking, "Man, it was running so good stock, what have I done "!! :frown:

Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
It was just irritating that such a big name company with such a reputation could make the mistakes they did. And even with that, I dont run all over the internet bashing them wherever I can. But between the poor technical advice, and terribly designed products that look cool but obviously never got much testing I was fed up. Became obvious their rep is simply from bandwagon people who see the name on the tv and jump aboard
Finally one day called nitrous outlet and first thing I noticed was the guy on the phone knew his **** and could actually give me straight answers. I ended up buying the n20 plate, and that was my first purchase from them. It showed up at my door in bad shape, bunch of slag in the holes, discolored etc, it was a mess. I wasnt a dick about it just snapped some pics and sent them in an email and was like uhhh, whats up with this ? I hadnt left any contact info but they must of found me in their system from the order and actually picked the phone up and called me to apologize about the issue, and that it even got out their door like that and got me a call tag and was able to get me another plate. I explained my issues with the other company and they were like well i hope this doesnt turn you off of our stuff we will definitely make it right. Which as far as I'm concerned the fact they actually said yea we sent you a piece of **** we will make it right was all I want from a company. Ended up i had bought their last plate so it took a few weeks to get the replacement but it was no biggie my car wont hit the dyno again till spring. I was missing the free shirt he promised lol, but I'm not sweating it just glad I got a good piece. I'll be buying from them from now on, stand up guys. |
Re: Official Nitrous HP/TQ/mods thread
have you installed the plate? what kind of setup are you running?
