Those ones you have pictured are actually lighter than the ones I have, you might be alright if you get some brighter bulbs. I went with the ultra smoked because that was the only smoked option AM had with clear corner lights.

Re: Mach was in a wreck

The basecoat shots below are not in the final coat, Chuck was going to put one more full coat on the entire surface, this was I think the 4th coat. The basecoat for black was pretty transparent and requires a ton of paint. I've learned a ton from Wicked Customs on this project. He has been very open and honest with every step this car has gone through. All shops should be this easy to work with.

Body now has basecoat:

Re: Mach was in a wreck

Chuck at Wicked Customs called me to tell me he dropped his gun on the roof while he was clearcoating the car... my stomach just dropped, he then laughs and said he was kidding. Whew. Anyway, he then went on to say that he was a bit jealous of this paint job as it very very smooth and now he is thinking about re-doing his own vehicle. haha.

The following are pictures after 3+ clear coat spays. Next week Chuck will wet sand and buff to a shine. (The pre-buff is better than factory by far!!!) To say I am happy would be a huge understatement.

These are pictures he sent me from his cell phone. More to come next week when I get a chance to see it in person.

Mirrors, these are Cobra mirrors with all surfaces black+clear. Love the look:

The sides are too 'short' height wise to the quarter panel. I am very picky and have done aftermarket parts before, even understanding fitment modification would be required but this was far beyond just fitment modification. Now, I have to return the bumper, we'll see if they give me any grief. Oh, my body shop's opinion on this bumper was 'It was the worst fitment part he has ever seen'. He does a ton of custom work so he is comparing it to other body kits.

I was warned by a member here and only took a chance since ABC was local to me. Next time I will just take his advice and stop. You know who you are... and I guess you can say 'I told you so'.

Sorry to hear you wasted your time and money on the bumper.:frown:

The rest of the car, however, is looking amazing.

The good news is they refunded my money. Hopefully they fix their mold and contact me in the future.

Thanks for the comments, I am getting pretty excited to get the car back.

Stopped by the shop after work today and Chuck was just finishing up the wet sanding and was about to start on the buffing. Here are a couple of shots of today's progress. He spent many hours on this, better him then me. :)

Needed a new radiator so Chuck picked up a 3-core unit for me.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-P...0/IMG_1148.JPG

I tried to take some pictures of the buffed section of the car but the iPhone is horrible with black, grainy pictures. I will stop by the shop with a better camera very soon. However, below will give an idea as to the quality of the paint.

You might ask why I took a picture of the ceiling of the Wicked Custom's shop, but in reality it is the reflection of the ceiling from the top of the trunk!

Business card held ~3 feet away, cell phone picture as well:

I will redo this shot with a better camera, in person the text is crystal clear!

You can only imagine how excited I am to see the full car complete. Anyone that needs a paint job, I would highly recommend this shop, I just can't find anything to complain about, top notch!!!

What shop did you go to in Maryland?

I am getting my car painted next year and I hope I can find a shop like the one you went to. I want the car to look better than stock (the biggest thing I want is practically no orange peel), but I have not been able to find a shop that I feel is going to do the work to my expectations.

I went to GIVENS COLLISION REPAIR CENTER in Frederick, I would NOT even think about going there... many short cuts, and the short cuts were safety related, not paint quality. The paint seemed to hold up well, the frame was simply done incorrectly and the spot welds were horrible. Not sure if the owner even knows his crew was turning out such bad work. They had my car for 3 months, my body shop in Texas has had it for 1 month and did a full paint job + custom body work as well as the exact same collision repair, well, did the repair they way it should have been done. I will eventually send the owner a letter and pictures with my displeasure.

I feel your pain in finding a quality shop, it has taken me years to find a good shop that puts the customer first. Too bad you are not in Texas... ship your car. :)

Re: Mach was in a wreck

Sorry for the delay, I have been enjoying the Mach and have not taken any finished pictures until today. I was also busy enjoying the holidays and have not been online very much.

Here are some pictures, I've driven the car 100+ miles since so if there is dirty/dust please forgive me. :)

Anyway, I am very happy with absolutely everything from the collision repair to the paint job. Everything was done exactly as I have requested.

I stopped by the shop today to chat with Chuck and while I was there I took a few pictures with my phone.
