Cobra hat and pumps
So I've got my turbo kit and it's killing me to put it on but I have to upgrade my fuel system first. So I purchased the cobra hat and twin pumps and I'm trying to find the best most affordable way of implementing them. I've searched Google a couple times and I keep finding different things stating you have to baffle the tank, you don't, you need two FPDM, you need a BAP you don't. So I'm reaching out to the community to see how everyone else has done it and what's the best way to do it. Thank in advance guys.

Re: Cobra hat and pumps
I did set up where I ran lethal dual FPDM wire upgrade with another FPDM, which all FPDM are the same I believe from 99-04, no model diff from one another. on the dual cobra set up I pretty much maxed out the two pumps at 515rwhp on a loaded dyno. sorry don't member the exact numbers, would have to look at the thread from procharger set ups on here. so the BAP I ended up never adding because I never changed pulleys and got it redyno and etc. or I would have ran the BAP, because I maxed out the pumps.
I believe that someone else can chime in, but they make a easier way to hook up for another FPDM, that I believe didn't come from lethal performance and I can not remember where it came from, its been a few years. another suggestion would be call lethal and see what they say on what you need. the cobra fuel tank is not needed, but is a good ideal for down the road, if not, then just do not run under 1/4 of tank, if you do, do not punch the gas or the result may not be good. hope this helps, and I hope some other members will chime in on this and help you out. Re: Cobra hat and pumps
you do NOT need dual FPDMs for Cobra pumps, only if you move to GT supercar pumps
if you dont have a tank with the appropriate baffling then you really need to watch your fuel level or you could end up with all the fuel sloshing away from the pumps and a lean condition. BAP, PPRV delete etc all depend on what power level you're going for...with PPRV delete and 495hp I was running out of fuel, had to do the power wire upgrade to to get some more duty cycle. |
