Just finished fuggin up my hood stripes.
Ok, I thought I could do it install my hood stripes. Followed the instructions to a tee. Low and behold pull off the backing paper and the bottom of the big front stripe has to huge creases in it. Absolutely no way to get them out. Called graphics express and explained my boobery and they cut me a break on the replacement. Of course now I have to pull off the one I just installed and spend 59$ to get my new one. Maybe I'll let the pros do this one. By the way the 281 stripes came out perfect. Pics to follow.:headbang:

I bought some too but I don't plan to put them on myself.because with my luck I'll ruin them. I will let the pros do it for me.

I feel your pain. I screwed up my hood stripe on my first attempt when I switched to silver stripes on my black Mach.

Re: Just finished fuggin up my hood stripes.
It was one of the most stress mods I did. The key os use plenty of the soapy solution and get the positioning correct and bubbles out before you lift. I consider taking it to our sign vendor from work but decided to give it a shot.
Another hint is small little bubbles will work themselves out once the car is in direct sunliught on a few warm days. So don't sweat the bubbles and leave the small ones ALONE. |
Re: Just finished fuggin up my hood stripes.
I haven't attempted a hood stripe, and probably never will! A couple of years ago, I tried to put my own bumper insert letters on the v6. I even bought the overpriced letters to make sure they'd be good. I follow the instructions, and let it cure for a whole day. Next day I make a trip about 6 blocks. When I got out of the car the stupid letters are like hanging there, almost ready to fly of. Bought the cheapo ones next time and paid someone to do it. It totally worked. I don't know why some of us can't seem to do it!:what:

Re: Just finished fuggin up my hood stripes.
We have the stripe all the way back. We spent more time arguing :anger: over measurements than the actually install.:23:
Wasn't that hard, just the more soapy water, the easier it was. |
