Me too. I don't root for the Atlanta Thrashers because they wear Reebok jerseys. I gotta tell you, I'm by no stretch of the imagination a Jr. fan, in fact far from it, but I've got to hand it to him, I think it took a lot of courage and guts for him to make this move. He could possibly lose over half of his fan base over this. I doubt it, but fans are funny these days. I actually respect him a little more now...but just a little.

Re: NASCAR thread

I've never been a fan, but I do respect him. He has stated that he wants to stick with Chevys so that leaves a lot of teams open. RCR has been after him for a long time and he would probably do well there. I personally think that he'll head for Gibbs. He is good friends with Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin as well as being a Redskins fan. Perfect match.

I don't think that he has to worry about losing fans...most of his fans are women and they could care less who he drives for.

I don't dislike him, but I'm a Ford guy.
Always have been.

Same here, I would rather see him win all the time instead of Punk Gordon or J. Johnson.

Re: NASCAR thread

I can't imagine Jr. would ever go to Hendricks. I could see Childress for sure. But not driving a #3 car. I seriously doubt that number will ever be used again. I'm glad he left DEI. I don't think he's been happy there for about the past 3 years. I'm not a Jr. fan at all, but I do like him alot better than his dad. It will be interesting where the chips fall on this.

I'm putting my money on Junior going to Gibbs and Yeley being booted out of the #18....

Re: NASCAR thread

JR will go to RCR and someone will leave -- not Harvick or Burton. :27:

He will drive the 3 too. Perhaps not every race but the 3 will ride again. :D

Bud ????????????????????????

Jr. is okay in my book. Wish he could work it out with Theresa :D . Wouldn't it be great if nobody offered him a "good enough" contract, had to settle on a term with Mikey!

I cannot wait to see Junior in a....

(wait for it...)

Toyota!!!

That would be perfect in so many ways, and you know they'd be willing to pony up whatever it took to make something like that happen at this point in time, including majority ownership in a team, boatload of money, whatever...am I right?

I don't think so.
Jr. wants to WIN.

Re: NASCAR thread

Well since Nascar to some is as staged as professional wrestling, the only way that Jr. will win a championship is to join the Hendricks team. :23:

You can bet your azz some Toyota Exec. has been burning up the phone lines. They would dump Ship loads of dough in his lap if he would drive a Toyota with a "3" on the side!! :MADNOEL:

Re: NASCAR thread

A number of people I've talked to today about this situation were dumbfounded when I made the exact same comment...and then said that it was something that made perfect sense. Toyota would give him the keys to the kingdom....carte blanche in an automotive domain where the technology and money would flow like a river.
My best bet is to invest in tatoo shop equipment. Can you imagine how many '8' tatoos are going to have to be revised or removed?

It will NEVER happen.
You see, I have a feeling that Jr. loves America too much to commit treason,
and doesn't seem to be a whore like the Waltrips.

I have to agree, I don't think he would do such an uforgiveable thing.

According to a local tv station down in N.C. Richard Childress has called for a press conference today.(Friday)

Here is the story line for the Monday after the 2008 Daytona 500:

Earnhardt (Jr) Wins Daytona 500 In First Race With Childress Racing in the Bud Select #3 Chevrolet!
Nascar, Budweiser, Chevrolet, Childress & Fox (or whomever has the TV rights to the race) will cash in.

Remember who said it and when:tongue:

Who knows, but I do know one thing, there will be a lot of $$ and Nacar will see that he wins as it sells tickets

Just heard the news, JR is going with Gibbs in the Bud #20.

Tony is retiring the end of this season to become a wrasler.

Going for a different Championship.
