I had it checked out at a local mustang shop, put it up on a lift and listened with the stethoscope and confirmed it was piston #8 that was causing the ticking/slapping sound of the piston, plus the engine burns a ton of oil. Something went wrong in there without me doing anything, I don't drive that hard that a piston would get screwed. The mechanic suggested maybe a cracked piston skirt, but that was just a guess, either way it has to be replaced, thats a definite. I just don't understand how it happened if these engines are soooo strong!??

So far, haven't started using oil. Sorry to hear about your 4.6. :(

31k, bought the car new in december 03... The mustang is now not even registered or on insurance anymore, it's strictly a trailer queen, so it won't be getting many more miles, but the ones it does get will be rough. :flamedevi

I did buy an 03 marauder in 2010 with 1335 miles on it. It was my summer daily driver in MN and will be my full time daily driver as soon as I finish breaking in my jeep in another thousand miles or so. It's currently at 17k miles.

It have some 4.56s waiting for it, I bet that it's gonna be a helluva lot more fun to drive after it gets those put in... :D

My TR '03 has 1,676 miles on it. Same as when I bought it in Aug. '07. So I've never driven it, or any other Mach 1 for that matter. As old as I'm getting (45), I should get my vehicles out and actually drive them once in awhile. Before I know it, I'll be in diapers !:SMASH:

I've only washed mine about 3 times in 5-1/2 years. And maybe average starting it twice a year at the most. Wish I had a nice heated garage that I could keep it in. We only have a cold storage building with no cement. So with no car cover, it gets really dirty.

I bought mine a year and a half ago with 5,200 on it, but I bought it to enjoy, it now has 15,000

I've been thinking about letting it sit more recently though, I'm kind of at that stage in life where other things are becoming more important...

Just picked up my 2003 AB with 79 miles on it! Carpets still have dealer plastic on them. Floor mats still wrapped in plastic in the trunk. Bought it from a collector whom had it in his massive collection in heated and ac garage. Everything 100% stock except oil and filter. Don't know if I'll try it too much or do up grades.Car also has never been rained on!

26,000. Well worth it to me! Owned a 2004 AB traded it in because step punks were trashing interior. Had to get another once punks gone!!

I Just bought my 2004 competition orange Mach 1 with 41053 km(25509 miles) I purchased it from the original owner. I am told that the car was driven for the first summer of its life and then it mostly sat in storage for the rest of its life until this last summer when I bought it. It now has 45255.9 km (28129.71 miles) so I have put 4202.9 km on it.
