I love Meguiars myself....there are lot more expensive waxes but SO much harder to apply for the most part...

Good wax also depends on the color of your car. I've been using Meguiars polish for a long time. For a sealer I like Klasse. My buddy had a black Mustang and swore by the stuff. I like it. It goes on and off pretty easy.

Another brand I found is called Show Stopper. It was in one of my car show goodie bags. It says it's good on dark colors like red and black. I tried it on my Mystichrome and it made the paint pop. It works good on the wife's black Mustang too.

I like the meguiars nxt liquid wax. Goes on and off super easy, creates a nice gloss, fills in light swirls and beads water like crazy.

I've not used it on my Mach (needs a paint job); but used this on the wife's new Explorer; great stuff. Not cheap, but goes on easy, buffs off to a deep shine with just microfiber towel. Supposedly seals for up to 6 months.

I've washed twice since applying, water sheets off and shines as good as the day it went on (about 3 months ago).

If you use detail spray often (like I do), buy some Adam's Polishes. It's the best out there IMO. Their waterless wash is great for the wheels. When I can drive mine, I use detail spray and waterless wash after each drive. No scratches as long as she has been waxed within a few months and not anymore dirty than dust/pollen and light brake dust.

I need to try more of Chemical Guys stuff. I've heard so many good things about them. Been wanting to try their JetSeal. I didn't care a whole lot for Adam's sealant. I like about all their other products though.

The Chemical Guys jet seal is amazing. That is my favorite product of theirs. I like their scratch remover for water spots and surface scratches as well. But the jet seal with a clay bar and finish wax is :worship:

I always loved Zainos once I started using it about 10 years ago and now its on all my rides. Friends have tried it on their cars and are believers now as well.

This is what I used back in the day and loved it, you could get lost in the metal flake of the DSG. Now that my bucket is back up and going I was looking into waxes and sealants and such and ended up ordering more Zaino. I know it works, I know how to use it etc... Im actually gonna tape the car off tonight so I can polish on Sunday (Ill use a california duster to clear the dust off first).

I was going to mention Zaino also. I too am a firm believer in how well it works. They don't carry a wax they have polish which they claim can be applied and you do not need to use a wax, however the old school in me still applies a coat of wax. I use the clay bar, the polish all the products they sell I have purchased unless they have come out with something new in the last year. I only check the website when I need more stuff. The clay they use comes from NJ and it's an NJ based product, my home state.

Zaino works well but I found it very difficult to use because it immediately dries clear (almost evaporative) and I was never sure if it was applied well enough or if I missed a spot. I got the whole set for a gift one year but I've stopped using it for those reasons.

Re: Best wax / 2003 Mach 1

Bummer, I've never had that issue. It dries to a film in about 15 mins and wipes off. Works great for me.
I do use the Meguires wax after the polish. I felt my car shined all the time because of the Zaino product being applied. My car would be dirty and still shine.

I wonder if your vehicle was too hot and that is why is evaporated?? My biggest mistake when first using Zaino was using too much of it. After a few times I figured it out.

There are so many items on the market though, so whenever you find one that works for you I say stick with it till something better comes along.

I'm pretty cautious about how I detail. I never use it on a hot surface or in the sun, although if I remember correctly zaino claims you can do that with their product. I can see it go on, and immediately evaporate away like it's water. Mine being white probably exaggerates the issue, but my meguiars nxt has never given me any trouble like that. :OUCH:

All the years of busting my butt cleaning the car by hand. A few years back I just didn't have the time so I had a friend detail my car, I got the most compliments that year at the car show... Pissed me off thinking how I was killing myself all these years and all I needed to do was to pay someone and I get compliments...
The hand job wasn't good enough... lol

Too....many....jokes....

But seriously, if you don't have a buffer invest in one. I love my Porter Cable. Here's a before and after on the wife's car. I still had a couple more steps after this.

I picked up a kit from autopia or somewhere like that, had a PC with the polishes, pads etc... its amazing what they can do. I just did a quick half assed job on my Mach and its amazing how it looks even before putting any polish or wax on it
