I agree. At my old job i sold a ton of Ford, MSD and other various aftermarket brands. Fords came back the least.

There are apparently a lot of fakes on eBay and even amazon. I'd try somewhere like Tasca ford parts website

Id go through american muscle and use the registry discount to save 5% and get free shipping w/no tax. Obviously a ford dealer won't sell you counterfeit parts, so they're a safe bet also.

Thanks and by the way, mine have 145,000 miles on them. Would you replace now or wait till one quits?

If they're still working id probably keep going with them. They're the same ones that are used in the new gt500's so they probably won't get discontinued very soon like a lot of our parts have been. Having a set put back isn't a bad idea though. Really just up to you.

I have 100k on my factory coils, I asked my tuner to buy new ford coils for me and his response was it was a waste of money because they still work fine. But, he did confirm that the only ones he recommends are Ford's. The others, he has to many tuning issues with, apparently the aftermarket coils are not consistent.

105k on mine. No issues either.

I ran Accel coils for about 3 days. The were great at WOT. They sucked everywhere else. I went back to stock coils and all my problems went away. I think I have them on a shelf somewhere. I'd feel bad even giving them away.

Mach 1 / Cobra specific parts seem to be going obsolete now. This is going to get annoying soon with people wanting $150 bucks for used throttle cables, etc.

Re: Coil packs

When I had my 01 Bullitt I actually bought it with 1 bad coil. I saw that they were all Ford coils but 2 of them had different labels on them as if a couple had been replaced before. That car only had 55k when I found this so I replaced them all with Accel coils and had no issues with them in 10 years and 15k miles. This is just my experience and again I bought them 10 years ago so maybe now they are not as reliable...
