Car is FIXED!!! No more creaking sound. Here is what happened. I welded up the torque boxes, put it back together....same sound. I was frustrated but I continued my search, after gutting the trunk and pulling the rear seats I found it. Where the rear seat frame is spot welded to the top of the inner fender....the spot weld had broken. When I moved that piece by hand...there was the noise! Welded it up, no more noise!!! I am so happy now, not to mention that my torque boxes are now welded up which can't hurt! Thanks everyone.

Is there a TSB I can tell the dealership to look at, that sometimes makes things go faster. I have the same problem, started around 20K miles

If you don't want to mess around with dealers and don't mind a "quick fix"... I just pulled the cover in the trunk and used a screwdriver to bend the "plate" back a little. Haven't heard any creaking since and no more spot weld to break again.

Where and what do you need to bend or weld. I tried looking at the links for pictures in this thread, and none of the pictures are showing up, just red x's.

Do you guys think that the ford dealership will fix this problem for free. If not how much?

I have a creak on the passenger side now and I will check my trunk. I have sub frames and rear strut brace so my car is solid which I think adds to the sound.

I see what you guys are talking about. I pushed on that area doesn't really feel loose, although this is what the dealer said in how they would fix it "remove the trunk trim, reweld shock tower to package tray, and repaint the tower." Is that the same area? I'll try to bend that piece a little and see if the noise goes away.

You can also lock it in place with some HD RTV. I did not weld mine but fixed it. How ever can't remember exactly how I did it.

I tried to mess with it, but I can't find it. I'm just gonna take it in tommorow to a body shop. And now I'm getting a noise from the right:anger: . I'm sick of this car and all the problems:anger: :anger:

I have the same noise coming from the same area on the passenger side. I was wondering if maybe some sheet metal screws would fix it? Without, of course, screwing them through the fender well. ???

Great Thread this, had the same annoying sound and yes pulled back the carpet in boot, fixed mine with some cable ties jammed in and taped up, no more creaking and squeaking.
