Nope, no fun there. Neither at Hooters, Logans or the BBQ place. We also didn't have fun taking over the track for parade laps...no fun at all...

Yes, Frank had fun. He had me doing all the work judging the 2005-2007 Class Mustangs while he drove the golf cart and looked at all the girls. Check us out here: :)

Did anyone catch that in this issue of MCA's Mustang Times that they call this event Ford's 45th Mustang Anniversary. I guess that Ford is taking the lead instead of MCA on this one. Anyone got any inside info on this?

That's interesting to hear. Maybe Ford has decided to remove its' head from its behind on this one. Their presence at the MCA 30th was poor at best. They supposedly had made some promises that they didn't follow up on due to cost issues!?! I know for a fact the Mustang I was supposed to be there, it wasn't. There was good vendor/sponsor/display participation and the area that these guys were set up in was as good as the show area. You guys are going to love this place. It will spoil you (man, I hope I get to the motorcycle museum this time! ), and you won't want to attend anything anywhere else, except maybe....hmmm, nowhere I can think of...

I thought Ford's participation at the 40th Anniversary in Nashville was pretty stout. That could have been due to the fact that the S197 Mustang was ready to be put in production. I did think that the Nashville Superspeedway's dusty, gravel parking lot left alot to be desired, and I'm not sure who was responsible for choosing that venue, but I believe it was MCA. I've never been to Barber Motorsports Park, but I have a buddy who has, and he says it's a fantastic venue!

Add me to the list. I too can vouch for Barber Motorsports Park. It is an excellent venue for this event. I was there for the MCA's 30th Celebration Labor Day weekend 2006. Birmingham is an easy 4-4.5 hour drive for me!

If there are any BBQ lovers out there, I would suggest visiting Dreamland BBQ while you are in town! It is awesome. The first Dreamland was in Tuscaloosa but now there are restaurants in Birmingham, Huntsville, and Montgomery that I know of. The Birmingham spot is located at the southern edge of the UAB campus on the slope under the Vulcan Statue. Seems like it near 14th St or Ave. Surely some hometown Mach owners can help me out here.

I agree on pretty much all you said regarding the show and site. As far as the BBQ thing, a number of us went to a place right off the Interstate in Irondale, literally two minutes from where we stayed, for some good local BBQ. Dave or Tammy can proably tell you the name of the place.
We had a Dreamland locally, but it did not last long. The food was average, and it was not in a great location. There's a Corky's here, and I don't know how it survives on what it serves. The local favorite (here) is called Voo-Doo BBQ, and it rocks. If any of you are ever in the area, we'll meet up there fo rthe good stuff.
