8-Rib Conversion Part #s & Cost

I have finally got all the pulleys I need to do an 8-Rib conversion on the Mach. Below are the Ford Part numbers.

$23.02 F65Z-10344-AA - Alt
$20.22 F6TZ-8509-AA - Water Pump
$36.25 2L3Z-3A733-AB - Power Steering
$57.52 F7UZ-19D784-AA - AC
$86.12 XL1Z-6312-DA - Damper Asy
$61.27 F75Z6B209-EA - Grooved Idler Pulley
$56.23 1L3Z-6B209-AA - Smooth Idler Pulley (Need 2)
----------------------------------------------------------------
$396.86 + Tax (List Price)

----------------------------------------------------------------
$83.00 DP355I-08D - 3.55" 8-Rib Blower Pulley (ProCharger)
----------------------------------------------------------------
$479.86 + Tax (List Price)

F75Z6B209-EA and 1L3Z-6B209-AA are actully tensioners that you will have to remove the pulleys off of and use as idler pullies.

I also found a larger idler pulley that might work to take up extra slack in the belt since there are only two belts that I know of that will work with a blower setup. There is a 110 3/4" belt and a 104". The stock idler sizes are 3" and this other one is 3.5".

$18.45 F65Z-8678-AAA - Smooth Idler 3 1/2"

I will be taking pictures as the pulleys go on the car and adding them to this thread.

UPDATE!!!
110 3/4" Belt
NAPA Part #NBH25081102 - $38.89
Summit Part #GTR-4081102 - $28.69
Non-NAPA Part #k081102

112 3/4" Belt
NAPA Part #NBH25081124 - $38.39
Summit Part #GTR-4081124 -$27.99
HD Version - NAPA Part #NBH25081124HD - $46.49
Non-NAPA Part #K081124

Running either the 7.425" or 7.50" Crank pulley the following ProCharger blower pulleys will work with the listed belts...

110 3/4" Belt - 3.55 through 4.00
112 3/4" Belt - 4.25 through 4.50

I have gotten the 110 3/4" belt to work with the 4.25" blower pulley using the smaller 3" idler pulley.

UPDATE #2
Water Pump Option 1: If you use the the water pump pulley from the above list you will also have to run a 99 cobra water pump with the longer snout. The pump is approx $50 from your local autopart store.
Water Pump Option 2: You can machine the lip off your stock water pump pulley and it will work fine. That is what I am ussing.
Water Pump Option 3: You can run a a Meziere WP346 electric water pump. That pump is approx $350.

Tensioner Pulley: I only purchased 1 of the Smooth Idler pulleys. One goes behind the blower and the other would go on the tensioner pulley. I could not get things to work properly with the wider 8-Rib pulley so I shimmed my stock idler and pulley out approx 1/4" and used a longer bolt. The stock pulley is the same width as the 8-Rib belt.

UPDATE #3
Grooved Idler Shim
Tensioner Spacer
Blower Bracket Shims
Machined Blower Pulley for Clearance

***You will also need some threaded rod to lengthen the blower mounting point and a slightly longer bolt for the alternator mounting location.

UPDATE #4
OK...now that I have it installed this is the list of what I used. Remember that these are list prices and in most cases will cost less.

$23.02 F65Z-10344-AA - Alt (Ford)
$36.25 2L3Z-3A733-AB - Power Steering (Ford)
$57.52 F7UZ-19D784-AA - AC (Ford)
$61.27 F75Z6B209-EA - Grooved Idler Pulley (Ford)
$18.45 F65Z-8678-AAA - Smooth Idler 3 1/2" (Ford)
$33.04 K081102 - Gates 8-Rib 110 3/4" (2815mm) Belt (Napa Autoparts)
$83.00 DP355I-08D - 3.55" 8-Rib Blower Pulley (ProCharger)
$229.00 F2601-1 - 8 Rib Crank Over Pulley Upgrade ('99 Up 4.6 2v) 7.5" (For 1 Bolt Tensioner) (Kenne-Bell)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$550.55 - Total

Subscribing. Let us know if you have any belt slip issues after you install the stuff. What boost will you be running?

Crank Pulley?????

Re: 8-Rib Conversion Part #s & Cost

Not pictured cause I went with a Kenne-Bell slip over that increased my crank from 6.75" to 7.5". Funny thing was I was getting ready to post stating that it was not pictured...but you guys beat me to it :)

$229 F2601-1 - 8 Rib Crank Over Pulley Upgrade ('99 Up 4.6 2v) 7.5" (For 1 Bolt Tensioner)

How much more boost will the slip over on the crank give you??

That is an awesome set-up!

Should be approx 4lbs. It is the same as running a 3.20 blower pulley with the stock crank.

Blower Pulley 3.60 with 7.50" Crank = ~59,000rpm impellor speed @ 6800rpm
Blower Pulley 3.20 with 6.75" Crank = ~59,000rpm impellor speed @ 6800rpm

Punch in your values for the blower info. This will work for any blower and any ratios.

Can't get it to work.

UPDATE...

That water pump pulley does not work. I just machined mine to fit. I have also had to machine 2 other pulleys to make them fit. Not sure if I am going to get it finished today.

Stay tuned....

Corey, where did ya order these parts from? I need to order the same set-up for my Mach1 using a D1-SC Blower.

Your local Ford dealership can hook you up.

Ok...here is the scoop on the water pump pulley...2001 and later 4v motors went to a shart shaft water pump (65mm). 99 and later had the long shaft (87mm) style and that is what the 8 rib pulley is designed for. There is not an 8rib pulley for the short shaft pumps.

There are three options to fix this problem...
- One: Swap out water pump with an older style (long shaft)
- Two: Shim the pulley out 22mm and use stock pump
- Three: Machine the lip off the stock pulley

Here is the shim for behind the grooved idler...I'll post an exact measurement of the shim once I have everything dialed in.

Updated the blower rpm spreadsheet...Now you can see a bunch of different blower rpms at the same time.

Nice spread sheet . 7.25 X 3.6" = 58800
7.5 X 3.6" = 60800
Which one do you think i went with and why ?
When are you going to dyno ?

You went with the 7.5 x 3.6" becuase the belt fit better and you will make more power...however, you prolly couldn't get anyone to answer the phone at KB to order that 7.5" so you ended up with a IW 7.25"

I am hoping to have everything on the car on Monday. I've been stuck in Indy all week and will only be home for Monday of next week then I am on the road again. Lots of other things to do on the day so I hope I can get the pulleys finished. I hope to see it on the dyno by the end of next week.

Re: 8-Rib Conversion Part #s & Cost

It also looks like I am going to use the stock idler on the tensioner. The pulley is as wide as the belt and I wont have to make a custom spacer for the idler arm. We'll see how it goes.
