Hey Shakn' 04, I'm considering cams while I have everything apart for the swap. Would you say the 106100's are still a good cam if you were to do it again? Obviously you would get them degreed for boost, but would you go with a completely different setup if you didn't already have these?

Im loving the Numbers on some of these, but Im looking to install a KB on stock motor. Ideas and cost? anyone? im looking at 450/400 just a rough gustimate on power. not trying to blow my motor up, and i will build in the future.

Depends where you can find a kit. Since the 03/04 Cobra intercooler isn't made anymore by Ford, KB stopped selling the kit. They will sell you all the pieces but you will have to source your own intercooler.

Back when I got mine new, the total cost was about 7,000 (kit, install, custom tune). That was at 15,000 miles on a the factory motor and now I'm at 45,000. The car is a toy and is driven HARD most of the time (autoX and spirited driving). It made 475/440 or so - my post is in this thread somewhere...

The motor is fine - but it did break the transmission, rear end, and axle.

Anyone having trouble with this years winter gas? Any Kenne Bellers running 9lbs on 91 getting tip in or overdrive ping? That is those running stock compression.
Thanks

I got bad gas twice at the end of summer in 2014. I remember it happened first in September. First time at an exon and then at a shel. Would ping like crazy but only at WOT. Thankfully I was still n/a at the time. It's why I always turn the music way down before a pull now.

New number from my recent build:

Stock bottom end: No, forged Mach1 10:1 compression

PD unit: Whipple 3.4 with Crusher inlet

Pulley size and boost level: 3.25" - 25psi

Fuel system: Dual Walbro 455s, full return, ID1000s, Fore Triple hat

The fuel pumps couldn't keep up so I am installing a 3rd 455 pump and going back to finish the tune. Max timing was 15 degrees and temperature was 100+ with 30% humidity. Updated numbers will be posted soon.

Re: Official Whipple/KB/Eaton HP/TQ/mods thread:

Eaton swap is done. I can finally add to this thread...

Stock bottom end: Yes

PD unit: Ported Eaton M112

Pulley size and boost level: stock - 7psi

Fuel system: stock + BAP

Tuner: STL Mustangs

Other notable mods: Bassani X-pipe, Borla Exhaust, JLT RAI, 4.10's

RWHP/RWTQ: 411/377

Overall opinion: numbers are disappointing to me - no question. Especially when I compare them to what most others with a very similar setup have achieved. That being said, the car is a blast to drive and because of my low mileage and wanting to keep my car reliable for the long term I'm content...........for now.

Re: Official Whipple/KB/Eaton HP/TQ/mods thread:

Went back to the dyno yesterday to dial in the tune a bit more...

Stock bottom end: No, forged Mach1 10:1 compression

PD unit: Whipple 3.4 with Crusher inlet

Pulley size and boost level: 2.75" - 29psi

Fuel system: Triple Walbro 455s, full return, ID1000s, Fore Triple hat

Tuner: SCT Tuner Manny Alvarez@HPP Motorsports

Other notable mods: LT's, 3.27's, 96 Cobra intake cams, built 4r75W, e85

RWHP/RWTQ: 742/774

Other notable was the blower belt was slipping badly above 6000 rpm. Need a better belt and a little more tension. That should put it over 800 easily.

You using the green belt? Also I have the plate that goes over the tensioner, would that help ??

Re: Official Whipple/KB/Eaton HP/TQ/mods thread:

No, I was using a standard Gates 8 rib belt that I was able to source quickly. I am going to the Gates RPM belt and a bigger idler to get a little more wrap on the supercharger pulley. Hopefully that fixes the slipping issue. I had the upper pulley carbonited but that didn't help as much as I hoped it would.

maybe go to a 6 lb lower with a larger blower pulley to help that belt from slipping, heck any belt you use making 29 psi is gonna have a hard time holding it with a 2.75, bigger pulley on the blower would help.
BTW whats your IAT at with that base compression and that boost level.
