E85 on bolt on mach
I have searched this forum seeking an answer what I need besides a tune to run e85. I am confused because some say fuel pump and tune while others say 39# injectors and tune. So for a full bolt on mach except cams at the moment what do I need? Thanks in advance.

E85 you're going to need basically 30% more fuel to make the same power, + enough room for whatever increase the E85 might get you. I would think your tuner would be able to look at a log and see how much duty cycle you have left to make a recommendation
My gut instinct is probably not enough to be worth the expense and hassle but Ive been wrong before. |

Ok thank you guys. I was just thinking if it was just a pump and/or injectors and atleast 5hp more i was thinking about it. But since it sounds like a hassle I will forget about it now until it's procharger time.

I'm going e85 just to see what I pick up. I'm going turbo down the road, but figured why not na? It's actually cheaper too, since premium is 319 a gallon and e85 is 179.

If you’re gonna go bigger power later on E85 then at least go big enough to support the blower on e85

I think you would need more than an aviator pump. I'm using an aeromotive 340 stealth that's e85 compatible. If I were to actually use e85, I could probably get away with just adding a bap. So unless you're talking big procharger and really big numbers, there's a few options out there for a single pump setup that could work now with being a fbo/e85 car and also blower/e85 later on.

I was told that the fuel system and internals from this generation of car were not compatible with E85 and there could be issues with corrosion or damage from running it. Any truth to that?
I know guys with "flex fuel" V8s in other Ford products that still won't run the stuff because it eats up everything it touches, over time. |

Basically you will either need a boot-a-pump or a 340lph pump, that will take care of the extra fuel, no need for injectors at that point. I did not add injectors until I added boost. :) when I ran nitrous with that setup, it was a wet system so still did not need injectors. Have fun. |
