Here is a list of hotels in the area of where we are staying for the Host Hotel and BBQ. Mechanicsburg is around 10-12 miles from Carlisle, there are numerous ways to get to the fairgrounds from there.

adult beverages and soda last year, why not keep it the same.

Paul & I will get soda, juices and adult beverages for the BBQ.

No cooler though, so I'll need to fill someone's cooler(s). :)
& I'll get bags of ice if the cooler owner lets me know it is needed.

If I can fit one, I'll bring mine (canopy/cooler).
We may need a cooler or two for drinks and what not, for anyone who has room to bring one.

Okay, SO what's the plan for dinner(s)...

Thurs - HOOTERS?
FRI - BBQ at Hotel
SAT - ??? Any suggestions.

Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

There is another option on Thursday. The host hotel has a complimentary dinner (pizza/italian with beer/wine) in the lobby for those that may want to stay in.

Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

How far are you willing to travel for Saturday's dinner. There is a nice restaurant in town called the Brownstone. Good food and very reasonable prices. Their parking lot is small but we could park in the back part of Karn's parking lot which is less than a block away. Bad part for us would be no burnouts when leaving as Karn's is right beside the police station but that would be good for the cars.

It would be about a 20 mile (25 minute) drive from the hotel. Rather easy drive too. Either Turnpike to 283 to Union Street or 15 to 83 to 283.

bris09 04-09-2008 11:43 AM

Re: Carlisle All Ford nationals - Mach 1 Registry Meet June 6-8, 2008

Another option would be a new place that just opened. Big parking lot, I'll find out more about their food and prices. I know they do serve alcohol. The place looks nice from what I've seen. Little more leway on burnouts as well since it is out of town. This would be about a 30 minute drive from the hotel.

We've always been respectful leaving Hooters parking lot, you'll just have to control your urges !!!:headbang:

Preferbly in Mechanicsburg, Carlisle area, There has to some places around close.

DO some checking, don't like it to be too far out, don't want people getting lost either espcially at night.

We have had parking problems at hooters, very small parking lot and on a Sat. Night it might be a long wait, especially if we have a large group...Thursday are not that busy.

I like Thursday, too. Saturday should be something at the Motel as we'll have a bigger crowd.

Dave, glad to hear the grandbaby is doing well.

How are you putting so many miles on that Mach? This is only the sixth year you've taken it out of the plastic and drove it to Carlisle.

You should be able to get lot's of cheap stuff in China, everything I seem to buy now days comes from China and you will be able to save on shipping.

:)

Dave (Boney) good news on the grandchild. Glad to hear everythings getting back to normal.

To Everyone Else going to Carlisle,
I have a school related event to attend in Maryland from May 31, 2008 till June 3, 2008 with my son. My 10 year old is in a competition called Odyssey of the Mind. His group of seven classmates has won the regionals and yesterday came in second in States, teams finishing in the top two get to go to the world finals at the Universirty of Maryland. I still plan on being at Carlisle but may be delayed a day or two in getting there, I will no more in the next week and give an update.
Friday night BBQ/party is still on no matter what.

We are golden again to "live all that is Carlisle", Whew!

Not moving back to NY state only having my company get me an apartment in NY for my use 2-3 days a week when I need to be there.

I was somewhat o.k. with relocating back to NY state but, when that Mustang Club Of America article in the SEMA section about the "carbon tax" came out I was done.
