Well as usual the Ford stealership can not find the part or part number for the bleeder/fill cap. Can anyone help with a ford part number for this thing??

Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
When I screwed mine up :headbang: I went to my dealer expecting to order or come up empty and he said "I have two".
I bought both, used one and put the other one someplace safe. Now I wish that place I thought was so safe was easy to remember. I have the receipt with the extra plug but the parts guy didn't look it up, he just walked right to it. :secret: I have my water temp in the block drain now but if those crossover tube sender adapters are available again, I'm getting one. It's kind of hot for the wiring using the block drain. |
Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
Geoffav,
Posted over on SVTperformance.com and asked if I could come over and post up some info about my temp adapter. Temp adapter I sell is priced at $20 shipped. I also build them as a standard replacement for the stock plug, these have no hole drilled/tapped for a temp sender. Same price as the tapped plug because if you ever do decide to install a temp sender ship the plug back to me and Ill drill/tap the plug for free. I accept Paypal mpp97sst@hotmail.com and Check or Money Order Anthony Dail 111 E. South St. Lincoln, Ks 67455 If you have any questions please ask here or give me a call. Thank you, Anthony Dail Midcontinent Mustangs (785)658-5921 |
Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
Thanks for coming over and posting.
I tried to contact you on SVTPerformance... and oh well that didn't work out to good...lol. Looks like a great product and you have had many great reviews of it over there too. :hail1: There will be a paypal order today shortly.. Question first: If I order the plug tapped for the temp sensor, could I just install a std plug where the future temp sensor would go? Then replace the plug when a temp sensor is in need of being installed. Thanks again! :HOPPY: |

Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
Mike,
Yeah thats right, I actually shipped your plug out wednesday, because I already had one built and ready to go. I had five of them that went out today so I got your order confused. I'm glad that you like the plug and remember if you ever decide to run a water temp guage just ship the plug back to me. I'll drill, tap, reclear coat it and return the plug to you free of charge. John, Payment received! I'll start on your adapter this weekend! Thank you. Anthony (785)658-5921 Midcontinent Mustangs |
Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
Stuck plug removal 101
I ended up stripping out the head on my stock plug, so in desperation and madness I attempted to drill it out. That didnt work but it did lead to the discovery of a trick way to remove a stuck coolant crossover plug. I used a 1/2" drill bit to drill into the plug approx. 1/4" I then took an Allen wrench that was slightly larger than 1/2" and with a small hammer drove the short end down into the plug. The 5" length of the Allen wrench gave me enough leverage to turn the plug right out. The 1/2 drill bit above worked but use whatever size bit that you have an slightly larger allen wrench to drive into the plug. Remember when hitting the allen wrench with the hammer to drive it down into the plug that this is a case of just enough force, not as much as you can muster. Hope this helps! |
Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
We broke two 1/4" drive ratchets off in one before we discovered the technique below.:anger:
The way to get that baby off is with a hammer-driven impact driver and the right combo of adapters to get to 1/4" (mine has a 1/2" drive, so I use a 1/2" -3/8" and then a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter). I've seen those drivers in 3/8" drive at the autoparts place, which would eliminate one adapter. Squirt on some penetrating oil at the seam around the cap, let that soak for a while. Then heat the fitting below the cap with a mapp torch or whatever torch you have. I used a little butane one successfully. Be careful to not heat so much you blister the paint off. Also try to keep from heating the cap. Then a few pops with the impact driver and she should loosen right up. |
Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
I looked at mine last night and I'm curious as to whether or not the sensor temp sensor will clear the shaker ductwork to the airbox. has anyone installed theirs yet with this combo?

Even if it is to high with a sending unit installed, you would just have to get a 45 or 90 elbow to take care of it.

Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
Buy from Anthony he makes awesome parts! I have his plug and brake cooling plates and you can not beat his price and quality. He is first rate to deal with. I had him send me a plug and a plug for the temp fitting as I have not added that guage yet. All I did was add some teflon tape and used a adjustible wrench to install. It is now easy to remove the plug to check the fluid when cool.

Re: Part number for coolant crossover plug
Does anyone know if this guy still makes the Temp sensor fitting?
Or does anyone else make it? Thanks! |
