Is the Mach your 1st Stang?

Did you own another Mustang before your current Mach 1?

I had a 94 V6 that was heavily modded.

DSG2003Mach1 11-16-2003 10:50 PM

ive wanted a stang for a looong time. The first one will be quite the experience! Its pretty cool my first stang will be a Mach1. My friends are lining up for rides and to drive it!

Hammer 11-16-2003 11:00 PM

Yup this is my first. I've always wanted a 67 or 68 fastback, but never had a ability to aquire one though and now I own a Mach1 and love every moment. Maybe I'll get one sometime in the future but this one is a keeper.

How about them Bungal's err I mean Bengals's takin down the Cheif's, who would thunk that would happen:SMASH: :OFFTOPIC:

codymach 11-16-2003 11:11 PM

I guess I've had at least a dozen other stangs before the mach....this is my favorite

Babbat 11-16-2003 11:37 PM

Ex-F-body lover here... Had an '89 formula and a '96 t/a. I was goign to buy an '04 t/a, but they're too hard to find :/

SHAKEN 11-16-2003 11:45 PM

 Yes it is. Actually this is my first Ford. The car is so unique with the shaker hood as far as Mustangs go. All aluminium engine DOHC, Shaker hood which works not just cosmetic. Didnt buy it to mod it its a fun car to drive and gets good mileage as long as you dont matt the fuel pedal :HOPPY: Which BTW isnt easy hehe.

surfnet 11-17-2003 01:06 AM

Make a long story short...
Had a buddy back in high school that bought one of the first Mustangs, a 6 cylinder, 3 speed on the floor, 1965 model. We used to ride around in it back in the summer of 65. I can remember us crusing drive ins listening to the Stones. Always wanted a Mustang. I never really could afford one (college costs, family, etc.) until I bought my 01 GT. Now I've moved up to the Mach. :HOPPY:

rcode99 11-17-2003 01:45 AM

Had a 65 6-banger w/3 spd.

03 DOHC Mach 11-17-2003 03:02 AM

Traded a 96 GT in for mine!:D

IMachU 11-17-2003 03:49 AM

I've gone thru 3 1965's, a 1967, 2003 GT, just to get to the '03 Mach. In brtween all those, had: 72 Pinto 4 cyl 4 speed manual, 76 Pinto hatchbach V6 auto, 74 Merc Capri V6 4 speed manual, 81 Turbo Trans Am (BIGGEST piece of junk!!) 93 Escort wagon auto, 94 Escort wagon 5 speed manual, 2000 Windstar, and 2001 Ranger Edge 4X4 Auto. Only GM I had cost me a BUNCH in tow bills. Blue Oval rocks!!

kdo2milger 11-17-2003 04:40 AM

My first stang was a bonefied 64 1/2 (honeycomb front grille), I never got it completely restored at that time, did'nt have the money to do it.
So I sold it to a local company named "Oswalt's Mustangs" same last name as mine:??:
I kick my self in the a*# every day now for not trying to keep it somehow.
Ohwell, I am turning over a new leaf and I will actively participate in the collection of classic stangs once again:THUMBSUP:

03BlkMachOne 11-17-2003 02:52 PM

My first Mustang was a '65 Silver Blue 3spd coupe bought in the spring of '66. Man was that car fun. Never had to ride alone ;) and it ran great, in its' class.

My son and I built a '65 coupe race car and ran it until June. We sold it. He went on to motorcycle racing and I bought the Mach 1. I am just like everyone on this site, I love my Mach.

Next project: '89 - '92 Fox body. Baseline: 408W stroker, built C4, spooled 9" 4:11 or 4:34 maybe 4:56.

Don't ya just love Mustangs and all the things you can do to them? :HOPPY:

Bill Hamilton 11-17-2003 03:59 PM

Got my first new Mustang in 1970, a competition yellow fastback Grabber Package with 302. Keep it till 1992. In 1973 picked up a 1970 428 SCJ convertible and keep for 4 years. Ordered a new 1990 LX 5.0 hatchback and drove for seven years till I traded in in on a 1995 Linclon Mark VIII LSC. I felt "naked" not driving a Mustang after all those years so my wife bought me a nice used '89 LX 5.0. This year she decided I needed a new '03 Mach 1 and surprised me a couple of months ago with my dream Mustang. I guess she got tired of hearing me talk about how great one would be as well as buying every magazine that said the word "Mach 1" in it and leaving it lying around opened to that page :!!: . Yeap, I got me one smart wife:THUMBSUP: .

Swweetness 11-17-2003 04:17 PM

I had a 91 LX 5.0 that I bought as a lease return first. Then I got a 78 duece with a 302 for a beater. It was fun, but what a beater!! But I moved up this year and very happy with that choice.

COOLTOOL 11-17-2003 05:09 PM

1st was a 98 V6
2nd was a 03 GT
Then, I traded my 03 GT for 03 Mach:D

04mach1grl 11-17-2003 10:33 PM

My heavily modded 97 cobra got totalled so i decided to replace it with a new mach.

Yes after two years of time, all the money, and love i lost the cobra. And i didnt think i would be complete without another SVT.

Well happy to report i am more than satisfied with the new mach.

thumper 11-18-2003 12:18 PM

I've owned several Mustangs, but this is the first one that keeps my heart racing even well after I've shut her off. Actually, I don't know if the Mach ever really shuts off. I think I can hear it it the parking lot right now. I gotta go. :D

red302 11-19-2003 10:04 PM

I've had 5 Mustangs since 1972. A '67 coupe, '71 Mach1, '72 Mach1, '85 GT, and my new '03 Mach1. Still own 2. Had to let the '72 go, so I could get the '03. The wife also has an '02 Mustang and says 3 of 'em at a time is enough. :frown:
After 25 years you'd think I'd understand her!

mufftang66 11-19-2003 10:55 PM

This is my 3rd Mustang. I still have the first two but I can only drive one at a time. I have a 98 V6 that I drive everyday and through the winter. The 1966 Mustang stays close to home. It's too good to tear apart as a project right now, but it needs a little work, like brake work, slight tuning. The Mach1 is the most fun to drive I think, but that old 1966 gets alot more looks.

moveit 11-20-2003 12:35 PM

This is my second Mustang--traded in my 2000 V6 Convertible--man what a difference

Frank 11-21-2003 09:18 AM

This is #6 for me.The first 5 were:
87 GT convertible
72 convertible
72 Mach 1
69 Mach 1
73 convertible

MattN03 11-21-2003 01:24 PM

This is my first Stang & I love it. I've wanted one for many years and after college I was finally able to buy it. I kept my Ranger to drive daily, so the Mach stays pretty all the time :D

ShakeMe 11-21-2003 05:54 PM

This is my 2nd. I still have the 92 GT, it's going to be the 9 Second car in about a year. The Mach will only get into the 12s. Maybe:D

RNstanger 11-21-2003 06:01 PM

This is my third mustang in 5 five years. 1st was a 98 V6. Then an 02 GT. Now the beautiful DSG 03 mach1, the best of the bunch

Which is faster? The 69 Mach 1 or the 03 Mach 1.

tbear1 11-27-2003 11:17 PM

My first Mustang was/is a 67 Fastback. I've owned it for several years now. I bought the Mach in October. The Mach is a lot faster and more comfortable to drive. I am more inclined to drive the Mach, hopefully I will not let the 67 turn into a garage queen.

CompOrange04 11-30-2003 02:34 PM

This is the first mustang i have ever owned... I traded a 97 saturn SL2 which held up pretty well for a kid from 17 to 22 but got a great job and wanted something really nice... i had always like the WS6 Trans Ams but my mom bought a 99 firebird that was a POS :SMASH:so i will never buy a pontiac and possibly a GM but i love my mustang and so does my mom (she had a 67)

Martin99ACR 12-04-2003 04:30 PM

This is my very first Ford car. I was GM all the way, untill i saw the Mach 1 in the dealership. Now you cannot keep me away from my mustang.

This will be my very first car. I've always had a truck and will always need the truck. I decided I needed something fun to drive in the summer.

I ordered the mach right before halloween this year and waiting patiently for it to be built and delivered. The dealership said maybe before christmas or else in January. Either way it will be a very good christmas or a very good birthday present to myself :D
So far the girlfriend hasn't been too impressed yet - she at least likes the color.

I've got a DSG, IUP, 5 speed coming -- I'm going to have to remember how to drive a stick. I haven't driven a stick in about 15 years - can't wait to remember how!

DoU12Rock 12-07-2003 04:45 AM

This is my first stang.
Here's the scoop
back in 72 when i was 16 this neighbor that worked (mechanic) at a GM dealer had a vet a monte carlo and a red i think 69 428 cobra jet absolutely cherry!!!
he blew the engine put a brand new 428 in and made about 15 passes and decided to get rid of it...dig this!!! he offered it to me for $2,000....it gets worse....My dad (who drove around town in a plum crazy 426 hemi cuda..because he managed a mopar dealer) wouldn't let me buy it..he was probably right..my first car was a 66 plymouth fury VIP with a 318v8 not very powerful but it sure sounded nice with the hollywood muffler and glasspacks...then...(don't laugh)... i special ordered vega....74vega ordered it in 73...remember the energy crunch???lol....anyhow it was an okay car.then at 17 in 73 i started selling cars...i hated the job..it is not me to try and talk someone into something..but back in those days the salesman got to drive demo cars...you could put 6,000 miles on a new car and still sell it as new..weird huh? but true..i had some nice demo's...chevelles, remember the laguna s3 with the 400ci... had several of those ....but my fav was the 74 nova ss
in gold with a 350 4bbl and took it in the shop and had the
pollution stuff removed...no a/c no p/s no p/b no radio very light car ....it would rock....i also had a dune buggy with a covair spyder engine in it..can you say HOLY HORSE PUCKEY?...that dune buggy was dangerous...i broke it a couple of times...lol but fixed it...i hear it is still seen from time to time in cols ohio..well then i was 18 in 74 did a dumb a** thing and joined the navy..lol..then after navy ...i was a married aerostar driver.lol
had two of them..well after i was through paying child support..(aha themarriage didn't work huh???.).I started to look for a ride..well i was initially (don't flame me) looking for an ss camaro....well I waited so long(for financial reasons)they quit making them...i was not a happy camper to say the least...well what do i do...start looking for used camaro's....no luck...then just out of a whim i started looking a mustangs...to my suprise the Mach 1 was back..I read a couple of articles about it and wasquite impressed..Decided i liked the zinc yellow best/. did an internet search.. received an email back...negotiated on the phone ...called my credit union...went and bought the car ...never test drove one...lol....NO REGRETS....revenge is sweet...there ya go DAD...badder than the original Mach 1..lol ..and i have a/c. p/s p/b cruise tilt 6cd changer...lol...can it get any better...13.142 on streets...haaa haaa...thank you ford...oh btw.. i drove to ohio when i first got the car ... and now my dad 68yrs eldo and goldwing driver is calling me telling me he is looking at cobras....lol
I LOVE IT....

2004 DSG Mach1 IUP - Current

I had been a GM guy.........66 GTO, 73 Trans Am, 80 Buick Regal (Turbo), 85 Buick Regal T Type/turbo 3.8l...........Was considering the new GTO until I saw the boby style (no way). I knew Ford was doing the retro thing because I had looked at the BUllitt in a Ford showroom. After investigating the MACH1 and driving one, I was hooked.

Being a former MotorHead from the Muscle Car era, I'm impressed with both the performance and the handling.
