I know this is way off topic but what is the general cost of building a motor for f/i?

I asked a shop a while back and I believe he said a little over $4k.

17-18 lbs. depending on how much timing you go with. I think the 3.4 Whipple with the stock pulley is already at 25 lbs. of boost or somewhere close.

i was hopeing with the low compression and the high fow heads that it would be higher, scott what do you use for fuel at 25lbs

32oz of Torco mixed with 5 gallons on 93. Gets me about 99-100 octane. I lowered my boost though to 22lbs or so depending on weather. If you have E85 which I don't that's the way to go.

nickster 04-26-2011 07:17 PM

Re: Official Whipple/KB/Eaton HP/TQ/mods thread:

no e85 here ,talked to livernios today, going with a 2.9 whipple ,oliver rods, costom dimond pistons, and porting the sh-t out of the heads.will pully to around 16lbs and start there, not to be done till fall

Scott McClure 04-26-2011 07:30 PM

Re: Official Whipple/KB/Eaton HP/TQ/mods thread:

I'm not even sure you can pulley the 2.9 Whipple down. Plus your going at this the wrong way. A big blower pullied "down"= poor results especially with lower compression as you put it. Plus I wouldn't waste my money on porting heads, I would put it elsewhere, like more boost.

New mods, new tune...

Stock bottom end
KB 2.1 IC @ 9 PSI
Upgraded to SCT BA2600 MAF
Upgraded to SVT Focus pump (with BAP still)
BBK Long tubes, BBK Catted X-pipe, Borla Stingers
SCT Tune at DaSilva Racing in Pickering, ON (Toronto area...)
Tuned on 94 Octane.

Dynojet STD numbers:
RHWP: 442 @ 6800 RPM
RWTQ: 393

My tune before the new mods (exhaust, maf pump) on a Mustang Dyno was 367 RWHP...

Tuner said it is at 17 degrees timing at the end of the RPMs.

Anything else to get more power without building the bottom end?

Are your cams degreed to your blower set up?

L.T. Smash 12-18-2012 08:22 AM

Re: Official Whipple/KB/Eaton HP/TQ/mods thread:

sadly no, they are still degreed to 108/114 from the NA set up. if i ever get motor work done they will definitely get re-degreed for a supercharger set up.

No I don't think so. Since mine aren't degreed to my blower setup, it's holding back a few ponies but nothing too serious I would need at this moment anyway lol.
