I'll try to give the best answer I can to all three questions.

1. The web site I was told last night is being tested and should be up in 2 weeks.

2. The limited number of spots is because of the area to park cars. We still are antcipating over 3500 cars for the event. If you have never been to Barbers, don't miss out.

3. Sticky point about being a member of MCA, I cant give a direct answer, because I don't have one. The leadership of the organization feels that it is required. Lets face it too, if it weren't for the MCA going to bat for the car back in the middle 80's, wouldn't the model be dead? Although we may disagree with this portion of the event we can still enjoy a great weekend together.

Hope I have given some light on the questions asked.

If anyone has any questions about the area or needs any type info PM me and I will do the best I can.

Can the site only accomidate 3500 cars? I had seen pictures of the 30th MCA and it looked like there was tons of area to put cars. I think that Barber is a great place and will be a wonderful venue. Just hope that the MCA requirement won't hurt attendance. I know lots of Mustangers who have no interest in an organized club who went to Charlotte & Nashville for those shows.

Another question, Can the members of this registry bring a couple of easy-up tents and set up their own area if one isn't assigned. Our club did this at the 40th. Two of us purchased garage area for the on-track and we put our trailers in a spot of the corner on the infield and set up the grille, canopy's and big Ford flag to identify where we were. We hosted lunch each day and had 30+ club members and guests each day.

I will get an answer for you as soon as I can. The pop ups in the grassy areas should not be a problem but I'll find out for sure in the next couple of days.

As far as the cruise goes, we are beginning our in-depth planning now. We will probably take a different route this go around and hope for our guest to get a good view of downtown Birmingham on the way to Homewood. I'll post as much info as I can, so no one will be left in the dark.

You might want to get that question to Dave. I remember that there was some issue with us having a tent put up at the MCA 30th. Not the MCAs rules, but the tracks rules as I recall. Some quick thinking by Dave saved our bit of shade.

The judged class has been full up for a while, I believe. The display class is exactly what it sounds like, you'll be displaying only.

I spok ewith someone today who was still ble to make reservations at the HI in Irondale, so looks like there might still be room there for those who need it.

I had spoken to Scott a few months ago, but he not mention the Mach 1 Racer. I've seen it at his shop. It is a very cool car.
The hood is off of one of very own members cars. (Scott kinda crashed real bad when a brake line let go! )

Now, maybe I can finally get my car signed!

Yep, sure was... was that zinc yellow... after the wreck (http://www.mrt-direct.com/wreck.html) Scott when it the blue... Personally I like the blue better...

I tagged along with Scott to Tulsa last year and we got this in car video...

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/M...-at_166206.htm

BTW... little background on me... was a loyal MRT customer but some where along the line I became the official unofficial MRT photographer... For anyone interest in more MRT pics I do have a section on my site: http://www.johnnystacks.com/gallery/v/Motorsports/MRT/

Sorry for the long OT... again, can't wait for April!

Scotts car is also featured in the new Jerry Heasley book, Mustang Masterpieces. There's a full page shot with a write up. I did let Scott know aobut it, he didn't know about it. Considering tha tthe book is aimed at showcasing the legacy of the Shelby Mustangs, I'd call that pretty good company to be in. If you've never met Scott, do make an effort to do so at the show. He's a great guy, and worked hard to make our Machs what they are.

That is on the "A" list to do at this gathering! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone from M1R face to face that will be there.

What impressed me was how well the sound worked! The box did a great job recording what the inside of the car sounds like! (I've been in the passenger seat a couple of times! LOL)
